Is it a dry wedding? How many people will forgo the alcohol for apple cider? I know at my wedding it would have gone untouched.

MrsYellowDaffodil:  I like the occasional apple cider in the autumn. I never have more than one cup at a time though- for me it’s too sweet to drink a lot. So, I would account for one cup per person max.

I’d suggest buying about 8 oz (one glass) per guest – it’s so sweet I doubt most people would drink more than one glass. It’s always on sale after thanksgiving and Christmas so you should stock up then! Keep your receipt and you can return the unopened bottles afterwards.

None for me. I don’t even like apple juice. (And I don’t drink alcohol, so that part is fine).

We also had a dry wedding, and had sparkling apple cider. I loved it, and we got complements on it 🙂 As you can see from PPs though, it definitely depends on your crowd. For us and our guests it was perfect, also helped by the fact that we had a morning wedding and brunch reception.

I was surprised how much cider we needed. We only planned on using it for toasts, so it wasn’t set out during the meal at all, and each guest was served one (larger) champagne flute worth after everyone finished eating. We bought two 25oz bottles per table (8 people per table), which was just about the right amount. If you want to have it available to drink with dinner besides the toast, my guess is that you would need double.

We bought ours from Costco, they have a 4pack for $10, but I second the suggestion to check the after christmas sales since it does keep so well!
