Our original budget was between 10-15,000 dollars. (Thank you gramma, bless her) but have TOTALLY gone over because our destination wedding location was apparently more popular than we thought. We estimated 80 people would show up, sent out 190 invitations…300 people total (counting spouses, dates and children) and now have 120 coming. So, our budget is SIGNIFICANTLY bigger now.
What are my figs you ask?? Here ya go::
Location (includes tables and chairs) :: $2800
Ceremony decor/rentals :: $500
DOC and Flowers :: $1000
Dress :: $1050 + $100 alterations
Beach house :: $1500
DJ (including ceremony music) :: $900
Caterer (this ones the biggie… includes open bar all night, food, apps, cake, linens, dishes, setup and breakdown) :: $10,000
The photographer will come out of my pocket and were borrowing centerpieces and DIYing all the paper products etc….

We budgeted for 80 people and now have 97 people so we have to put out another $1500 on top of our tight budget already! But we keep telling ourselves that it only happens once in our lifetime so it will be ok!

Started off thinking we would spend no more than 15k then it became 20k Now I’m estimatting 22K but that is not counting my dress (1200 w/o alterations) and accessories, his tux, bridal party gifts, rings hotel, limo. SO I say it’ss end up being more like 25-26 total! eeek

Hah. My wedding isn’t for a year and I’m already over budget. :p My parents gave us a set amount of money and I was like “wow that will totally give us a rocking wedding”. Then I looked around, and with the # of people I really feel have to be at our wedding — I’m now looking at about $10k we’ll have to cover ourselves. 🙂
