If you are staying in a newlywed suite night of wedding how much are you paying for it? We are staying at the Marriott and got quoted $399 yikes! Yikes because i've been to this suite before and its really not that big and nice.  We were planning to stay at the suite night of wedding and the next night as well then leave to go on our honeymoon but since its so crazy expensive we will just stay one night then sleep home the next.

Suite? What suite? We Days Inn'ed it up for $69 and saved our mulah for the honeymoon =]

Is it really that nice though? They have some nice king suites at a lot of marriotts that are probably cheaper but still pretty nice (hot tubs anyone?)

We are staying at a marriott and its only $79. We dont see the point of having all the fancy stuff when you dont need much besides each other ;)

We want to have an after hours in our suite, just food and beer because of the fact that our reception ends kinda early at 9pm. I dont know if we are even going to do that anymore, I feel like $400 is alot for one night.

@stlginkgo-wow the Marriott we blocked rooms at are charging $109, you got a deal!

We're paying $300 but it's a huge suite on the top floor.  Angelina Jolie even stayed there a few months ago!

We're getting a special rate at the $300...I think the suite normally goes for $500/night.

We paid a little over $100 for our Bridal Suite! $400 is definitely a little up there!

@tammyt112 - - thats seems very high. Is there another hotel close by that has a suite you two like that would be more worth your dollar?  I am with EJS4Y8 - I think you should save your money for the honeymoon.

We have a suite which is very $$ but for every x amount of rooms booked we get a free night. So far we have one free night - we are thinking we may have 3...

Wait is this your preferred hotel?  I mean there should be an incentive for you - do you know how many rooms have been reserved under your wedding block?  Maybe you can use that as a negotiation tool?

    Good Luck Smile

We are being comped our suite by the hotel where we are holding our reception.  I'm surprised they aren't giving you some kind of discount even though the hotel isn't your venue.  Did you mention it was your wedding night? I would definitely keep looking around to see if someone will give you a better rate.

Ridic. We're paying $199 for our suite (regular price is $299)... I wouldn't pay more than that unless I was actually getting something amazing.

wow we are really getting ripped off!!! We cant stay anywhere else because we already sent out invitations and our website info had the hotel info on it and next day brunch as well! AAAARGH! They know its our wedding night too, they only have 3 suites and just 1 left.  I thought this price was normal, jeeez.

We're getting the executive suite at a discounted rate of $229.I've heard it's pretty nice and the hotel's on a golf course which made me set up the block there because of FI's love of golfing. It'll also be the room that the boys will probably congregate to get ready at as I'll be at my family's home. If we get enough rooms booked in our block I think  I can get them to comp my room. When we talked about getting a room for the hotel night I immediately looked at nicer hotels. No offense, but we travel cheap ALL the time. Whatever the cheapest is because you're never really in the room. But for our wedding night I wanted something nicer than a "Motel 6"!

I think you do what you and FI are comfortable with. If you think it's too much but you still want a nice room, shop around a little more. We all choose what we want to spend the extra cash on. Know what I mean? Laughing

ETA: If this is your block I would def try to negotiate a little more esp if you havee more than 10 rooms in your block booked. And also, where is this? I mean if you're in a big city like NYC then it totally makes sense! And don't forget you're on Memorial Day weekend as well which drives rates up.

@gerbera-  This is in Peaboby Massachusetts, so its not in Boston. I will definately hit up the hotel manager and see if she can discount for us, hopefully she can.  The suite isnt even that nice either, just a little bigger with a small livingroom.  I've been to the suite at the same hotel but in Boston and it was really nice, nice view and everything

do you have to have a suite? maybe try for one of the executive rooms - usually in marriots there isnt much of a difference between the two except a bigger couch instead of loveseat for the lounge spot. seriously if its the wedding night you will mostly be just crashing there.... wayyyy too much!

We are paying $165 for ours, which usually goes for about $400. Since we are holding our reception there we thought they would comp it, but the best we could do was to get the discount with the block of rooms. It is the same weekend as the Reno Rodeo, so hotels are already getting booked up and I am glad we booked ours early. I actually had to point out that a friend of mine had been married there last year and gotten her suite for free before they would give us that discount. Perhaps you can speak with their booking manager and point out just how much  business you are bringing into the hotel

We just went for a room with a king bed Smile And the person I was working with said she'd put a comment on my reservation re: us celebrating our wedding. And then I'm just going to (pleasantly) ask if there's any upgrades available when I check in.

Mine is around $400 too (also Marriott). We decided it's worth it because we're having hair and makeup done in the suite the morning of the wedding and I need room for my 6 BMs, mom, grandma, FMIL, etc etc etc in there plus my photographer. Also we want to have a spread of food set up in the morning and it has a little mini kitchen area with a fridge and a little kitchen island type thing and a lounge area.

We are hopefully getting married at a golf course where they have all suites and the cost for the night before (we are leaving the day of for our honeymoon) is 159 unless we have more than 15 rooms booked and then it's only 129 and that's for 2 bedrooms and a full kitchen.

We have a suite at a boutique hotel in downtown DC for $169. When I told the customer service rep what it was for she gave me a huge discount. My bachelorette party/ get ready suite is $209 at their sister hotel, but it is 700 sq ft and can hold 15 people (not sleeping).

I think we got a good deal and stayed in our $300 hotel budget (well almost).

$269 for the presidental suite.  We totally didn't need it and it's a splurge, but we're doing it anyway!  I'm getting ready there the day off as well.
