We had originally budgeted $350 for his and $500 for mine. But we got a steal on a titanium band for him for $30!!!! And another steal on a great band for me for $215. So altogether: $245. We're cheapo's! But we love our bands!
We spent $148 on two 14k gold wedding bands with our date engraved inside. We both are minimalists and traditionalists, we have small fingers and we got 3mm instead of something thicker. I love them, and I still can't believe they were only $74 each!!
Yikes! I feel like the big spender!!
Mine is a 4mm platinum band with 8 diamonds and 2 gemstones (our birthstones) scattered in it. It was $1650 from a custom jeweler.
His is a 6mm white gold brushed band that was $256 for the materials and a (different) jeweler friend made it for us as a gift.
No engravings.
Pictures in Bio! :)
we splurged. $1800 for both, no engravings. jenirae, i am in the same boat as you. eek.
Mine is $2k. It has diamonds and matches my engagement ring setting.
We haven't gotten his yet, but I've priced around and it will prob end up being $350
Mine will be $4800 (bc of the diamonds) and his is just under $2000 (platinum)
Wow - there is quite the range out there - I guess it's good that we have choices these days. We went with non-matching bands; 11 channel set diamonds for me in 3mm white gold at $750 and plain 4mm white gold for him at $250. Our jeweler friend didn't charge us tax so we came in right at $1000 which was more than we originally wanted to spend but that price of gold just kept going up!
We didn't go the engraving route because our jeweler reminded us that, though it can be touching, engravings can get ruined or stretched if you have to resize your ring. Not that I'm anticipating that but we figured not worth the hassel or expense.
Our engraving will be free I think because we spent so much with this jeweler already. Our bands don't match; mine matches my set and his is custom. The total for both will be around $3600. Both of our bands contain diamonds and the metal is 18k gold (white for mine; white and yellow for his).
My ring was $140 (on sale), it's a 3-mm flat white gold band. I wanted something very plain with no stones. I teach young kids, so I wanted something that I didn't have to worry about at school. I also wanted to keep a clean look with my engagement ring, so that the stone would really shine. His ring was $60 (including shipping)--a 6-mm tungsten ring. The jewlery store where we bought my ring was selling the one he wanted for $375, but we found the exact same ring at a fraction of the cost!
We didn't engrave our rings, so I guess we spent $200 combined. We were happy because we saved money AND got the rings we wanted. :)
Our bands don't match. But they both very much reflect our individual styles :)
Mine is a 7 stone, prong set, 1.5 carat diamond band, set in 14K white gold - $2500
He chose a Tungsten band - $89!
Our wedding bands are each engraved with our anniversary written in Roman Numerals - so it looks like this: II.XV.MMVIII
hubby's ring was about $900 (platinum) and was engraved with our wedding date as well as something that only has meaning to us. We got it from ebay lol But, it was exactly what he wanted and he was happy with it. Mine was about $1500 i think (with tax) but couldn't have engraving. It's platinum with bezel set diamonds with miligrain around them. Came from brilliantearth.com Our rings definitely don't match :p
Mine was 900 and his was 700- we got a great deal from our jeweler or it would have been way more!
Mine was $250, it has pave set diamonds in a marquise pattern. We got his Tungsten band off of Overstock.com for $60. We had seen the same rings at our jewelry store for $300+. It was inexpensive enough that I also bought him an engagement ring to wear. I felt a bit bad that my band was so much more then his, but I love it.
The one my fiancee is giving me was her grandmother's. The one I got her is a plain 22 karat yellow gold band that matches the one she is giving me. It was $155.61 from eBay UK. (Because the one she is giving me is 22 karat, it was very hard to find a matching one from a US seller.)
About $4000 for mine (white gold). My FI's is cheaper thank goodness (tungsten), which is only a couple hundred. I think we might get his engraved, not sure with what yet!
My bands are going to be $4100. They are platinum and diamond. I have a band setting (hard to describe) as my engagement ring, so I thought it looked silly to have just one band...I'm a freak about symmetry,so I'm getting one for each side :)
My fiance wants titanium or tungsten--so we are figuring only a few hundred.
Probably no engraving.
Mine is kind of btwn Edwardian and art deco filigree white gold (custom mold), with a small cabachon ruby and some very small brilliant rubies around it. I like the lighter color and they are small, so the stones were not very expensive. Overall we were really surprised that he quoted $1300 for it all. FI wants a steel band, so it's like $30.
We spent $180 on his and $40 on mine. I ended up loving the simple, white gold, 2mm band! I think it shows off my solitare wonderfully. :) And he loved the price! Engravings come free with Kay's, but we haven't done it yet.
mine was $100 and his was $250, they're both simple white gold bands. they did engravings free because we had already given them so much business fixing my engagement ring. they both say "i am my beloved and my beloved is mine" in hebrew.
I told him that I didn't want to spend a lot on my ring, but he basically ignored me.
We spent $150 on his ring because it can't be resized and he's trying to lose weight. He's lost 50 pounds so far and has another 50 to go (in his eyes). We will be buying him another ring eventually so we went with something cheaper. He loves his ring though because he works on cars (as a side gig in our garage) and it can't get messed up. He likes the fact that he can still wear his ring when he's working.
Also, My initials didn't change when I got married so I put the following on his ring...
TWS + AJS = FOREVER 11.7.09
My ring couldn't be engraved because it has diamonds all the way around.
I also engraved his watch (wedding present). I wrote "TWS - Hi. I will love you until the end of time. - AJS" I almost just wrote the word "Hi" just because that's so my personality, but I didn't.
We spent about $2000 on both our rings and had our wedding dates engraved inside them. : )
We got both our wedding bands (6mm yellow gold confort fit for him, 2mm white gold for me) for about $300 (normally they would have been $425 together) on special because we bought them with my engagement ring. No engraving, although I have been thinking of it.
I don't have the paperwork handy and can't recall exactly, but both of them came out to just under $4000 (including tax) I believe. No engraving, that's not my thing.
My bands were about $2300 (I got two- I'm also a freak about symmetry!), palladium with diamonds. Hubby's wedding band was about $300 (tungsten)
Both of us feel really strongly that we want platinum rings -- me b/c it would match my engagement ring, and FI b/c... well, he just likes platunum, and I figure he should be able to get whatever he wants after he dropped all that money on an engagement ring for me. The one I'm looking at has tiny diamonds along the top side of the ring, and it costs something like $950 from Brilliant Earth. I don't know what FIs will cost, but I'm guessing in the $1000 range, so we're looking at something like $2000 total for wedding bands. Yikes!
Mine was $800 (white gold with diamonds), his was $285 (tungsten, no diamonds). We're not doing engraving because I don't think you can engrave tungsten.
Ours will probably cost ~$500 for both (white gold) unless I decide I want a ring w/ diamonds.
I like the idea of engraving - maybe just our initials and wedding date?
When we chose my e-ring, we knew nothing would fit with it and decided that I would wear the e-ring on my right hand, and my wedding band on the left hand. When we started shopping for my band, I tried and liked some rings, but we came across a set that was simple, delicate and unique... he liked the look of two rings on the same finger.. never thought we'd be going the traditional route, but we bought it, and are totally in love with it!
So, about 225$ for the e-ring; then 400$ for the set and 380$ for his white gold wedding band - all of these include the taxes.
Oh and we intended to engrave our bands with a few words that are meaningful to us, that describe our relationship... but mine is too small to be engraved and we decided not to do it on his ring only. So no engraving for us!
If we buy the rings we've been eyeing, mine will be $800 and his will probably be around $1,000. Mine is not engraveable as it is oval bevel set diamonds all the way around and his we will have the wedding date engraved.
Mine is a platinum Hearts on Fire band; it was around $2000 I think.
His is a platinum benchmark band and it is $1800
mine was 2k, eternity band white gold, his was 400 white gold plain band...we loove ours..trying to debate on whether or not we should get them engraved or not..

Hey bees :)
How much did/will your wedding band cost? His? And what are you getting engraved (if anything) on the inside? and why?
thanks!
