I'm curious to hear what others are spending on their bridesmaids gifts. Also curious as to what you're getting them. Jewelry seems to be the #1 option. I've looked online and it all seems the same, flasks, personalized bags, compacts, etc..

I've heard of people doing gift cards but then they know what you've spend whether it's a little or a lot. I've heard people say treat them like it's their b-day and do individual gifts for each person. That's hard though and what if one likes the others better?

I have considered little gift baskets but haven't figured out yet what they would contain and I know from experience that doing gift baskets can get expensive by the time you add all the goodies.

    I did $50 a girl:

Each girl will get a very cheap jewelry set so they all match (and it wont matter if they never wear it again), a custom photobook of pictures of me with them, and an individual gift. 3 get tiffanys wine glasses, 1 gets some really nice sunglasses (LOVE warehouse sales!!), 1 gets a pearl necklace (love overstock!), and one gets a Betsey Johnson necklace (again overstock :-]).

I have gotten my girls the following:

    1. Tote Bags
    2. Hoodies and Tank Tops
    3. Bridesmaid Dress
    4. Wedding Hangers
    5. Knotted Pearl Necklace, Bracelet, and earrings
    6. Coach wristlets and ID wallets
    7. Shoes for the wedding

I don't know the actual cost, but I got their gifts over time and on sale and/or DIYed them. My girls are my baby sister and my daughter, so I probably spent way more than the average bride.

@SDBornWed: I love the photobook idea- if only I had a lot of pics with each one to choose from but as I'm writing this a thought came to mind...I could put together a lil memory book for each with my favorite memories of my time with each one  and pics could be added to that as well. I of course would do more than just that but thanks for putting the thought in my head!! :)

Mine probably aren't getting anything. We paid for their dresses, jewelry, shoes, special under garments, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and hair combs. We are also paying for their nails and hair to get done. I am probably going to buy them makeup also, because we are all doing our own makeup. Oh yeah I also got them very fancy flip flops, a gym bag to keep all the wedding stuff in, and a purse hanger.

I only have two BMs, and I'm spending about $120 on each. They are both getting a set (necklace, bracelet, earrings) of fresh water black cultured pearls. I want them to wear it to the wedding (with their black dresses) and then they can have them forever and wear it whenever they want.

I can only spend roughly $20 on each bridesmaid. I'm getting them each something different. If it's jewelry they'll either get bracelet, necklace, or ring. But now I may scratch that idea and get them different kinds of purses or clutches. I'm a mess right now when it comes to BM gifts... had everything figured out and it didn't work. Oh well! :)

i think its up to you and your budget what you're comfortable with - and also how long you've known each BM.

i figured to go with the wedding jewelry, as most people are doing, and the individual gift for each person. even IF one of them likes the other's thing blablabla, they'd know i thought about each of them individually when i got them their gift. at least, i hope they consider that! lol

i think if i added it up, not including the little extra im giving my MOHs (have two), $100 for each girl. its a lot but i'm quite close to all of them and they're doing a lot for my b-party and such, and its a lot of stuff (had a year to bargain hunt and find things for each one!)  i figured i couldve just paid for their dresses instead, but i wanted to put more thought and time into the gift (im sentimental that way) than just giving them gift cards and whatnot.

its up to you how much time and effort you wanna put into it! good luck deciding.

i got my girls jewelry sets that they can wear in the wedding and possibly in the future too.  and i got them sarongs for the beach in their favorite color.

i am also considering paying to get their hair done.

and them and all my guests are getting welcome bags. the bags themselves are great those - high quality canvas with "Jamaica"  embroidered on them.

I spent about 40 on each girl.  For my BM's two of them got a tiffany's replica necklace and 2 of them got freshwater pearl bracelets.  I will be spending a little more on my sister (MOH) because she is also making our invitations, marriage licence (jewish wedding), table numbers and our escort cards.

I will probably end up spending about $60-$70 on each girl. Jewelry, and a mani/pedi the day before the wedding. I figure they'll like that more than some useless junk. (Not that yall are giving useless junk, just that everything I can think of to give them would really be pretty useless for them.)

I am paying for their dresses.

I bought them each this necklace which I secretly want to steal:

    http://www.etsy.com/listing/60378916/watercolor-rose-necklace

And I bought them some slipper things that I thought looked mad comfy.

I may also throw a candle or some lotion in there.

I spent about $50 per BM. They are each getting:

    • Necklace and earrings (from the Limited)
    • Picture frame; I will give them a pic of the two of us from the wedding once available
    • Travel lotion/body spray kit

I'm spending about $100 per bridesmaid, so far I've bought a robe ($25 on sale at Macys) and a Jewelry Roll from Etsy ($35). I'm hoping to find a necklace for around $30 and spend the rest on bags/cards. I did buy my MOH a bracelet from Tiffanys as an extra thank you. That was $155.

Mine are varying slightly. I am taking each girl to Tiffany's so they can pick a piece of jewelry to match their dress (obviously not from the 10,000 side of the store!) and have as a keepsake. My maid and matron of honor had their dresses paid for. Each girl got a J. Crew giftcard for offsetting some price of their dress. Manis/Pedis day before.

Each BM is getting a personalized zippered beach tote bag.  Two necklace/earring sets. A beaded bracelet, a can koozie that says bridesmaid/maid of honor, depending if bm of moh. A BM survival kit/repair kit that I made.  And a thank you card

I'm not sure exactly what I've spent on each girl but they each got a wineglass that I diy. And a bridesmaid survival kit that I've randomly bought fun things for here and there. So I'd say 30-40$ a girl so far? Maybe? Hell. idk.

I'm still planning, but so far I've budgeted about $100 per bridesmaid.  I would have a hard time stinging on their gifts, since I know how much money they've spent to be in my wedding.  This is my chance to thank them for all the stress I've caused them this year! :)

I will probably end up spending btw $100-$130 on presents and then I am also paying for their hair and make up on the day of.  Not 100% sure what I am giving them yet though!  Its between a beach themed tote with cute stuff in it or a kate spade wallet with gift cards in it....

I purchased a lot of the bridal party gifts from the Exclusively Weddings website. The girls got a large tote bag (perfect for the summer - getting married in June), a personalized silver jewelry box (rectangular with their first name engraved), and a BM survival kit (has 18 essentials in a mesh bag). I also purchased their jewelry: pearl earrings and bracelets which I purchased off of Etsy.com (they literally have everything on there!).

I think in total it comes out to about $125 for each BM.

I have MOH and 3 BM's. My mom paid for the dresses as two of the BM's are my sister and the other is my cousin. I'm paying for everyone to have their makeup done. I'm going to take them for a mani/pedi the week of. I also want to get them each a necklace or bracelet but not matching. Something they can wear that day but that they will wear again. Two of my BM's are hairdressers and our doing all our hair as a gift to me, so I will probably get them a little something extra as a thank you gift afterwards. I'm thinking a gift card for a dinner out or something.

I spent $300 on a sculpture of one of my BM's families (She, her partner, the scenery, and their cats.  The woman that made it also made my cake topper, and when I saw it, I knew it would be just the thing for my friend.

I bought my other BM's dress ($350?), so I will probably give her a gift certificate to the spa at the hotel where we're getting married or to her favorite restaurant.

They are both getting cheap ($15?) bracelets that I thought were pretty.

I'm spending a little more for my girls.  I'm doing a destination wedding where they are spending about $2000 each to come (I picked my girls out of who was coming, not asking them and requiring them to come)

For each girl I bought their dress ($200), will pay for their hair & makeup ($130), manicure and pedicure ($55).  For small gifts they are each getting bracelets ($15) they can wear the day-of or not, a small travel silk jewelry roll ($15) and a kimono / silk robe ($30) to get ready in the morning of.  I also plan on paying for an excursion for each of them ($75).

For my maid of honour, my mom and I are also covering the cost of her flight down from the NWT to Florida ($1000+) as well as part of her room on the cruise.  She is very close to both of us and we worked this into our budget.

I am only having 2 girls who are near and dear to me so I made sure when we worked out our wedding budget (we are paying for all of it ourselves) I made sure we included a significant sum for this.

I'm letting them each choose their own shoes and jewelry.  Both of their dresses are completely different and so are their styles and I want them to be comfortable and happy on the day of.  Nothing appears better in photos than happy and joyous people!!

I've decided to cover the BMs expenses as much as possible, so I'm paying for their jewelery, hair and make up, and my MOH's hotel room as well.
There's a part of me that wishes I could take the $200 or so I plan on spending on them and buy them something awesome like a camera or an ipod or something, but in the long run some one has to pay for their wedding expenses eventually, and I'd rather it not be them. I just hope they don't feel jipped.

I wanted to show my appreciation to my three bridesmaids, but I didn't have A LOT of money left to spend. For less than $50 for all three gifts, I gifted them a cute Harajuku Lovers zippered pouch (scored at Nordstroms Rack for $9.99) along with a card and gift bag. It was simple, but they really appreciated it.

I'm planning for 100 bucks a maid. I'm having custom made jewlery for them. To hopefully fit each girls personality. That's probably going to run at 30 bucks a peice. And then the 60ish bucks left I'm just going to go shopping.

MOH will probably get something from COACH.

BM 1 will probably get a gift card for shoes.

BM 2 will probably get an item of clothing.

All members of the bridal party will recive some sort of photobook of the wedding.

I would really like to spend about $125 per BM, which means that I really have to save up, because I have 5! I'd like to get them cool sneakers and mani-pedis the day before. Plus more if I can afford it! I love showering my friends with gifts.

I'm giving each girl a cardigan to wear if it's chilly on wedding day

How much are you spending on BM gifts & what are you getting them? : wedding Cardigan

And a bag of goodies from Yankee Candle, but the fall themed votive holders I had ordered on clearance ended up being out of stock so I'm currently searching for other inexpensive votive holders that will work. I'm on a tight budget and by shopping during good sales, I'm spending less than $40 per girl.

We got the Groomsmen Fossil watches also and will be engraving groomsmen and put our wedding date on the back also. Everyone will be able to wear them on our wedding day! Its a great gift that they can actually use again!

I have already purchased pearl jewelry for each of my BM and I plan on making a flat iron case or cosmetic bag so I'll end up being around $40-50! I love the idea of me making something for them because it'll feel more personal to me than just buying the same thing from a store. The flat iron case below is a tutorial from It's a Good Day blog (http://itisagoodday.blogspot.com/2010/07/christmas-in-july-crap-ive-made-gift.html). Sewmamasew's blog also has a great list of tutorials.
