Good Morning Hive! At the moment I'm speaking to florists to get some estimates for our wedding. Admittedly my budget for flowers is on the lower end b/c I'm DIY'ing the centerpieces. The florist is making 2 bouquets, 3 coursages, 7 bouts, 1 centerpiece for the welcome table and decorations for the alter arch... which came out to about $700 including delivery. FLowers are going to be garden roses, roses, gerbers, mini-gerbers and dahlias. :)

My original budget for flowers wasn't that high b/c I really had no idea how much this stuff costs. I have yet to buy flowers for my centerpieces (which shouldn't be too much since I'm going to a wholesale flower mart). It looks like I'll be spending around $1k on flowers.

How much are you guys spending on flowers for your wedding? Are any of you guys going over budget on flowers? What kinds of flowers are you guys using?

I told my florist my budget upfront ($1000) and asked her to design everything so that we could stay in that range.  She's been really great about working with me so that I can get to look I want for the money I have, the key has been staying flexible.  I basically had an overall feel and color scheme I wanted and gerbera daisies were a must but other than that she is doing what works best for the money.

I don't know what your colors are, but the selection sounds very similar to mine!  We're mostly shades of pink with a little purple and yellow in there (think mountain wildflowers).

I am not sure how much the total is on our flowers, but I do know how much a few things are going to cost.

    My bouquet- $100.00

    BM Bouquets- $45.00/each

    Bouts- 6.00/each

My centerpieces are non-floral. I am using large wrought iron candle holders and hurricane vases.

our budget is about $3,000. with that i think it is assuming 18 centerpieces, escort card table flowers, random little arrangements at the bar, bridesmaids bouquets and my bouquet. we opted not to do corsages or boutineers. none of the women sounded thrilled about the corsages and the guys are wearing pocket squares instead.

we're using all white roses and hydrangeas! except my bouquet will be soft pink peonies.

For $1000 (including taxes), we are getting:

    - bride's bouquet

    - 3 BM bouquets

    - ton of corsages and bouts (about 20 all together I think? $12 each)

    - flower clusters to hang on chairs down aisle

    - simple floral arrangements for the reception

California has a lot of hot houses, and I'm only using in season flowers. The only ones I've been particular about are tulips and calla lillies, which I have authorized my florists to use as much as possible, but strategically if they are expensive at the time. Because I'm willing to be flexible with the blooms (the flower market can fluxuate a lot), they are giving me more items.

My budget that I gave to my florist is $500-$700. This will include bouquets for me and 6 bridesmaids, bouts for my groom and 6 groomsmen, 20 centerpieces, and 2 altar arrangements. OH and corsages/bouts for the parents and ushers.

Its going to be tight, but my florist says its doable!

We are doing all our flowers ourselves and ordering them from fifty flowers. So for all our centerpieces, bouquets, boutineers, and misc flowers, we are looking at about $260

I am DIYing all of my centerpieces, bouquets, and bouts using Sunflowers and spray roses.  Including all centerpiece containers, flowers and supplies, I am hoping to keep it under $400.

my centerpieces are included in the package with my venue- very lucky with that one, and they are on those eiffel tower glass vases, I wasn't sure how I'd like that- but we just approved the sample centerpiece- so happy with how it came out!

the remaining flowers are about $1000: my bouquet, 5 maids bouquets, 8 boutoniers and and 2 small bouquets of calla lilies for the moms.

I refused to go over budget on flowers because they were not important to me at all.  I'm paying $400 total including tax for the following:

    bridal bouquet (20 roses): $65

    4 BM bouquets (10 roses): $35

3 hand-tied posies for mothers, 4 corsages for grandmothers and 12 boutonierres.  All the flowers are roses with no greenery and will be wrapped in black or ivory ribbon.

I was initially planning on a $2,000-2,500 because my FSIL had gotten a quote for around that so I assumed most places would be around the same and from friends had always learned that flowers we a little more expensive.  However, the quote I got for my wedding was around $1,000 that included:

    My bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, groom's boutonniere,  4 groomsman's boutonnieres' , 4 corsages for mom/grandma's, and 2 boutonniere's for father/grandfather, plus 10 mid-high quality floral table centerpieces.

    I was pleasantly surprised! :-)

We're DIYing the lot and for everything we're going to spend about $150-200 BUT we're TOTALLY cheating and going to the LA flower mart where you can get more flowers than you could possibly imagine for that price, I'm actually worried about having too many. The biggest perk so far about living in LA is DEFINITELY been the flower mart. No lie 2 dozen long stem roses for $16, giant bunches of curly willow for $3, bunches of queens anne lace for $1.50, etc. It's insanely cheap. I'm actually most excited about this part!

About $7-8K. We are having a big wedding and I'm not DIY'ing anything. Although I kind of wish I was sometimes b/c I feel like my florist doesn't have my best interest at heart..

Our florist had a minimum of $4500 which we got to pretty quickly.  The centerpieces I think end up costing a hefty portion.  Luckily we focused more of the floral budget inside at the reception since our outside location barely needed any decoration because of the coastal backdrop.

@bunny22 - - floral budgets are going to pretty much cover the gamut as you can see from above. There are so many factors that go into wants, needs, quotes, brides budgets, etc…If you feel the quote you were given wasn’t what you were hoping to receive keep calling around and continue getting quotes. I would suggest that once you have 4 solid quotes using the same flowers for all quotes – move forward from there. And if you have a set budget in your head stick to it. There is no reason why you can’t find a florist available and willing to work with your budget.

There are also ways to save on the budget…Can your bm bouquets turn into centerpieces?  You may need to add a little umph to them, but that’s an idea…Do you happen to have an independent grocery store near you? Sometimes they have great hidden talent in their flower area, and they might be just what you’re looking for!?!?!?

Good Luck and I hope the above is helpful Laughing

I met with my first florist the other day and this was her breakdown (without specifying flowers....so I'd imagine this could go up?):

    -$150+ for bride's bouquet

    -100/ea for BM bouquets (I need 4)

    -$12/ea for bouts (need 9)

    -$20 for corsages (need 4)

So, not counting any centerpieces/decoration flowers, that's $750 (and, without tax...at 6.25%).   Most of the prices seem pretty average, but $100/BM bouquet?!  Goodness!

Our total budget for flowers was under $300.  However, we had a small wedding party, and not much in the way of flower decorations.  We had:

    • Two bridal bouquets (rose arm bouquets with peach roses, snowberry, seeded eucalyptus and plumsous)
    • One MOH bouquet
    • One Bout
    • 50 cups of freeze-dried rose petals

Even the bridal bouquets were under $100 each.

I don't want to spend more than $500.

But, I really need to go to the flower wholesaler to get an idea of how much flowers cost... I want to do mason jar flowers, very simple, with a pretty random assortment.  I don't want them to look "bouquet-y" at all. Just like fresh cut flowers from the garden. I am thinking mostly daisies, a little hydranga and peonies (very few!) thrown in. lots of greens and baby's breath.

    I like these ones.

Flowers honestly aren't that important to me.  We're probably getting them from a grocery store (but my mom is pricing some stuff out with other stores that they saw at a local bridal show).  I asked a floral store in a grocery near us and they said since I am getting baby's breath bouquets, they will probably be $24-35 CDN each.  Carnation bouts and corsages will be ~$4-5 and ~$11 respectively.  We're also going to be getting a carnation mini bouquet for our jr. bridesmaid.  I think in total we figure it will cost us $200 CDN or less.
