Blahhh we are spending exactly $3,000. The photographer is amazing and the package was just right. It’s funny because we had such troubles pulling the trigger with another photographer who was charging $2,995. I said it was way too much. Here we are spending $5 more and now I think it’s all worth it!

most def.. couldn’t agree more with you guys.  After the cake is gone, flowers die and the booze causing memory loss all you will have for memory are the pictures and/or random stories your guest may share.

I am a bride-to-be and a WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER!  I feel like I have a bit of ease when it comes to knowing what I want as I work regularly in this particular industry..

I agree that the average price for most photographers in my demographics fall within the 2500 to 3500 range for the basic package and maybe even an album with the high res disc.. the number one complaint I hear of past brides I’ve met wish they had spent more on the photos as these photos not only keep the memories alive but also make for great WALL ART!!

I think you should update the poll to not have the numbers repeating.  $500, $1,500, $3,000, and $5,000 are listed as the top of one category and the bottom of another.  So I didn’t know which one to vote for…

$2200 includes coverage of the whole day, all images and she is painting our canvas and printing us a “brag book”

but i am also hiring a second photographer and having her do photograph our reception instead of having a photobooth. This works out sooo much cheaper

    $0!

One of my dads friends is doing it as our wedding gift (he is an amateur, but has done a few weddings before and does take great pictures!)

If we had more money, I would have loved to spend on a pro. But We are totally broke, so I couldn’t justify spending $1000 on a photographer.

We paid $800 for unlimited hours she cut us a HUGE deal because her 5 hour packages usually start at $2000. I guess from one photographer to another she understood my problems and my budget lol. She was the sweetest person I’ve ever met and drove 2 hours to reach my venue stayed from 2 until 11 pm and had another event to cover the next day. She is editing all of our photos and we can choose any we want printed but I didnt want a book, I can make my own. She will be sending us a cd will all the edited photos and we can print them ourselves as well. I can’t wait to see our photos!

I’m in the 3k range as well Frown. Yes that is a sad face, lol. I know it will be a smiling face when I see them as we have the best in my area and my FI was more than supportive about getting them bc they were my dream photographers. Still, I can’t help but wonder WTH I’m going to do with 800-1000 pictures???

We spent $2500 for the wedding + $300 or $400 (I forget) for engagement photos, but our package does not include prints of an album, just all the photos with print rights, full size, online and on DVD. So at some point, we’ll be hit with another $1000 or so I’m guessing when it’s time to get a quality album and some photos printed for family.
