I just found the perfect wedding shoes on J Crew's website. However, I am not a shoe girl and have never even spent $100 on shoes...and these ones I love are $298. So, to bring me back down to earth from my shoe high before hitting the "Add to Bag" button and regretting my credit card bill next month...how much are you spending on your wedding shoes?
I found mine on sale for $40. I can't splurge on accessories, because my dress was over my budget. These shoes are perfect and the price makes me happy. :)
I spent over $200 on these Kate Spades that I fell in love with, which were originally over $300, but I found a coupon code. J Crew usually has discount codes or special offers right? Try using those!
@soyjoy222: I spent a great deal on my wedding shoes. They were about $600.
However, they are gorgeous and I cannot wait to have an opportunity to wear them again.
I think if the shores are great looking and can be re-worn to fancy events (and you can afford them) then I'd go for it.
Think of how fun (and special) it'll feel to wear your "wedding shoes" again (since you can't wear the dress again all that easily).
Well, the shoes themselves cost about $60 but I strassed them with Swarovski crystals so that brought the total up to about $400. Yikes, I don't like seeing that number!
97 but they were white and I'll never wear them again. If you'd get multiple uses out of yours I don't think its a bad purchase. Since your wedding isn't for awhile I'd wait for a sale in Jan.
My heels for photos and the ceremony were $95, my flats for the reception were $35 on clearance, and my other flats for the day-after shoot were $40. I'm still in shock at how well-behaved I was when it came to buying my shoes (yes, 3 pairs IS well-behaved when you're me!). I am a shoe feind. LOL
Edit: I have already worn all of these shoes again now that the wedding is done.
Well I got 2 pairs of shoes. One for the ceremony and one for the reception. Ceremony shoes were $150 and reception shoes were $90.
My wedding shoes were originally $110 but I bought them on sale from DSW for $49.
My pair for the day cost £270 (around $405); they should have been £470/$705 (and we would have paid that), but my dad got a discount :-)
My pair for the evening (more enclosed with a slightly lower heel) cost £330/$495.
So, grand total of $900! :-s
ETA: I'll wear both pairs again, a lot, so I don't think it's a bad price; but then, I love shoes and have a few pairs that have cost $200-300 in the sale. If you'll wear them again $300 isn't that bad IMPO; but if you won't, it's a bit extravagent
My shoes were £75 (£100) and i LOVE them.......they can be worn again to fancy nights out though.....
I bought mine for $35 on amazon! I fell in love with the Nina Forbes and they were $79 in store, but I found them much cheaper online.
To be honest, my shoes were cute and we took some nice photos with them, but I'm really glad I didn't spend more than that. Pretty much none of my guests even saw them under my big dress, and I spent more of the evening wearing my $4 pair of platform flip flops...no one saw those, either! :)
My shoes were originally $350 but I purchased them for $150. I'm a shoe hoarder so I actually had the shoes sitting in my closet for 5yrs waiting for the right dress.LOL
I spent $60 and they were on sale. I just hope they're comfortable. I couldn't justify spending so much on shoes that are barely going to be seen and I will only use once. (Although I guess I could dye them...) I actually had a really hard time finding a pair of white satin shoes that I liked!
I would have gone the "statement shoes" route and gotten a pair I could use again, but my family is pretty traditional and probably wouldn't get it.
They are not my dream shoes but they will get the job done!
I think I spent right around $50 for my red wedding shoes, and I loved them so much on my wedding day!
I decided from the get go that I was splurging on my shoes rather than my wedding dress. Shoes I can wear again, a wedding dress...if I wore it again people would look at me funny. I ended up with Jimmy Choos that were 800$ish ...I try to forget how much they actually cost.
@pinkshoes: wow, that is a good deal! :) I really liked the Electras, but too high of a heel for me.
Maybe I'll get a pair of red shoes for my civil wedding! Being Valentine's Day and all. :)
I got mine for $30 at Wal-mart. :-) I'm not a shoe girl either, and would never wear silver shoes again. Wal-mart happened to have a really cute pair of silver flats, so I went for it.
Mine were $39 at Ross. Just happened to walk by them while shopping for shoes for my sister's wedding and knew they were perfect.
I spent $115. They were $145, so I saved $30. I spent a lot and wouldn't normally do that, but they were exactly what I wanted (yellow and gray), and I know I'll be able to wear them again!
$900 on blue suede Louboutins. My fiance actually bought them for me as a combination birthday/wedding present, since he knew how much I adored them. They will definitely get worn after the wedding!
i bought a pair of kate spades- i'm obsessed with them, and i got them for a STEAL- 119 for 325, i think!
i'm a shoe obsessive though- i have a bit of a problem. :)
@Aure: Lol but so worth it cause your shoes are gorgeous!!
I'm not 100% sure if I will wear the ones I bought but I got them for $95 when they were orginally $250, I love them!
Mine were Ivanka Trump and retailed for $120, I found a coupon and got them for $100. Every penny saved counts! I splurged on the dress so I kept it within reason for my shoes.
Mine were $250, a gift for my Aunt. I picked them out and intended to buy them myself but then, she offered. They are not the most expensive shoes I own.
I'd wait around for a coupon code or sale. Also, check the return policy since they'd be offline. What do they look like? The girls here are good at finding lesser priced comparables.
I got mine for $700ish including shipping. Special day = special shoes. Eek!
I had a £100 voucher towards my shoes, so they were £144 plus the £460 I spent on Swarovski crystals... So £600ish altogether. That's about $950ish at the moment (more if I counted the £100 voucher).
My ceremony shoes were originally $60, but I got them for $20 after sales and coupons. I got some fancy flip flops for the reception that were regularly $30 and I got them for $15 on sale. Love me a good deal!
I haven't picked them yet, but I'm between the sparkly Louboutins, which I don't want to even think of the price, the silvery-gold Jimmy Choos, or some cute, sassy Kate Spades. So the choices range from $300-1600...I would wear them all again in a heartbeat, so that's a factor, too!
ETA: I forgot about the patent Valentinos I am in love with...those are $700, I think. :(
I'm a shoe junkie and love designer shoes, so it's important for me to find a beautiful pair of shoes that are comfortable.
I originally bought the Enzo Angiolini Sully; however, when i tried to break them in at home and they were so uncomfortable that I had to return them. So, I decided to buy the Jimmy Choo's, but my fiance wasn't comfortable with me wearing a 5" pair of shoes that would make me 1" shorter than him. LOL
Now I'm debating between the Kate Spade "Charm" slingback in navy or Jimmy Choo "Bello" glitter wedges. My dream shoes are Jimmy Choos; however, I keep on going back and forth on whether I can justify spending $600 for wedding shoes (almost half the cost of my wedding dress). Decisions decisions...
I think my FI is getting me a pair of Jimmy Choos as a wedding present. (He's said that he's planning to.)
Mine retailed for $69 but I found them, brand new, for $16. I would've spent a LOT more on my shoes but these just had all the bang I wanted for less of the bucks :)
A little over $700 for satin ivory Louboutins. I plan to dye and strass so I'm going to estimate another $300-400 for materials.
@soyjoy222: Not trying to talk you into expensive shoes, buuuut... J. Crew very often has 20%-30% off coupon codes available. A bunch of them just expired about a week ago, but I bet you there will be another opportunity soon! You have plenty of time to get your shoes, so I'd wait and then maybe treat yourself to the ones you love when you can get them with a coupon?
I haven't bought mine yet- but I fell in love with a pair of Badgely Mishcka flats for $120. Doesn't seem like much compared to some of the others here- but I don't think I've ever spent more than $60 on shoes before...so this is a struggle!
Mine were $90, but I had a $50 gift card so I only spent $40. They are my most expensive shoes -- most pairs I have were about $30. I also have a pair I'm going to wear for the reception, which were I think about $40, but I've already worn those a lot so it's not like they're special "wedding" shoes. Both pairs are something that I'll wear a lot after the wedding.
