Not including your engagement or wedding ring – how much are you spending on your jewelry/accessories for the wedding day? How much is that compared to your dress cost or overall outfit cost?
I am looking at a headband, necklace, earrings, and bracelet and it is adding up fast! I’m at $160… which isn’t TOO bad, but my dress was only $300! So we’re over 50% of the dress cost for jewelry. Yikes!
Here’s what I’m looking at from WeddingFactoryDirect, and their prices are WAY better than other places I have found. Supposedly they are wholesale only but I’ve read mixed reviews about if they’ll sell to individuals or not, so I’ll give it a try, and if that doesn’t work, have my MOH that runs a business order it.
Headband – $59 (I cannot believe how expensive these are other places)
Necklace & Earrings – $69. I am wearing a v-neck dress and like the drop necklace with that.
But I think I will actually get these earrings – they look pretty similar in the pics but these are a fair amount smaller in width and with the head piece I dont’ want too large of earrings. $10.50 for these.
Bracelet options – I think I like this narrower one better, but the second one has the same teardrop shape in it. $14 or $16.50 respectively.

The necklace I borrowed from my sister-so it was my something borrowed. The earrings I inherited from my grandmother, she wore them at my parent’s wedding-and it was my something old. I spent $5 for flowers in my hair.

@StarryNight2011: That is awesome! I should ask my grandma what she has, that’s such a good idea.

@NAvery: Grandmas are good that way.
I don’t wear a lot of jewlery normally, so borrowing was really the way to go for me.

@StarryNight2011: By the way, I’m stealing your photos as hair inspiration! I really love how it is looser in the front/sides but still pulled back low. You looked absolutely stunning.

My earrings are an old pair that i love that my fiance gave me. They’re very simple leverbacks with a brilliant cut CZ drop. I am not going to be wearing any other jewelry other than these earrings, my wedding/engagement rings and a very small simple diamond ring from my grandmother.
The thing that will set me back is the veil. The one i want is cathedral length, very simple but super high quality. Cost of this item will be $300.00

My headband was $125…earrings were around $10..necklace was around $10..bracelet was like $4…and I borrowed a ring from my mom. I choose pink pearls for my earrings, necklace and bracelet. These are my getting ready pics..so they arn’t the best, lol
That’s the only picture that shows my earrings..
And there you can see my neckace.

Hmm let’s see.
So that’s a total of what, $135?
I got everything except the headpiece from Etsy. Headpiece is from David’s Bridal.

My dress was pretty elaborate so I kept the accessories simple with just earrings. I got them at tejani for $100.

earrings were a set of 3 for 20$ so 6.66$ per pair off Etsy.
I don’t remember how much they cost seperately but the necklace and bracelet were 70$, made locally.

im going a bit bling heavy, but whatever. I like sparkly things!
I have a replica of the Cartier Tiara that Kate Middleton wore to her wedding. Mine is being made now, it’s going to be about $400 (way more then I wanted to spend, but it’s being gifted to me by my aunts, so I feel a little less guilty about getting a jeweler to make it. I tried cheaper versions and hated them)
(this is a picture of the real Cartier Tiara)
I’m going with peral and crystal earrings, pearls are a tradition in my famiy. I got these for $40 on WeddingFactory . I’ll be wearing simple white gold ball earrings in the rest of my piercings.
I haven’t gotten a necklace yet, just because we’re changing the neckline on my dress, and I have no idea what will look good. Also my braclet is my offical “Something New” and my mother in law will be giving me that, so I don’t know what that will look like.
But I’m expecting everything to come in well over $600 in jewlery alone.

The necklace I am in love with is $200 from BHLDN. I’m thinking about hinting to FI for a Christmas gift since it is way more than I want to spend out of the official wedding budget.
Earrings I’m planning to make myself using findings from Etsy – I don’t imagine they’ll be more than $20. Haven’t found a bracelet yet. Veil I don’t plan to spend more than $100. Then there are silk flowers – $10 to $20.
I guessing around $400 when all is said and done.

@cirk: Oh my is it going to have real diamonds?
I probably will be spending similar to what you are because of my pendant.
I’ve posted them here but I’ll do it again.
My mom’s earrings which look like this I think
And my lovely pendant. I can’t wait to get it back I’m so nervous and excited. This is what it looked like when I bought it its out getting the cz switched for diamonds, and set in white gold instead of the gold plated thing it was set in before:

@Mrs Christopher: Part of it will be real diamonds, and part will be high quality CZ (from what I remember). It’s going toc come apart into two peices, separating the diamond part (which will be all the scrolling and the center diamond) from the CZ (the bottom halo part)
The diamond part will be able to be flipped around and worn as a necklace later on.
To be honest, the $400 was our orignal price estimate, when I sat down with the jeweler after my bad experiences with cheaper versions of it. I know for a fact that my aunts have been talking to our jeweler and it’s going to end up costing more, due to some changes they’ve made. Like my orignal estimate was in white gold, they want it made in Platinum, and they’re the ones who came up with the idea of having it be able to worn as a necklace as well. I’m willing to bet that it could have easily doubled since i got that estimate, but since I’m no longer paying for it, and my aunts are gifting it to me, I don’t get to see it until it’s done, and I don’t get inside info on the price. If i really wanted I could contact our jeweler (We get all our stuff done by the same guy, he’s worked with my family for three generations), and he’d let me know.
It’s a little insane thinking about how much that tiara is going to cost. But whatever. It’s going to be a family legacy piece, I know it. My younger cousin has already asked me if it could be her ‘something borrowed’ at her wedding (she’s 14, so we’ll see if that sticks haha). But my other estimate still stands- I’ve got expensive taste in jewelery and aside from the earrings, my necklace, belt, and bracelet will all be real diamonds as well. And I’ve got to get 15 white gold earrings, which turns out aren’t super cheap!
