I’m struggling to figure out how much cake to order for my wedding. I’m inviting 90 guests and will be serving both wedding cake and an awesome cookie display that my caterer provides. (Seriously, best. cookies. ever. It seems excessive to me to have two kinds of dessert but I just could not pass up those cookies.)
I’ve heard of an 80% rule when ordering wedding cake, based on the idea that not everyone will want cake. How do you figure on the amount of cake when you’re also doing a dessert spread with 2 cookies/serving? My baker is *awesomely* talented but runs a pretty small operation and so far has not been all that helpful in terms of suggesting amounts, and has only given me a price based on the number of invites.
