Pick out what containers you will have out for your guests to fill... take one to the grocery store and fill it up with candy. Weigh it and you know how much you need per guest!
We had a candy buffet for 120 people and did 1/4 pound per person and still ran out--it looked like so much candy I had no idea how we were going to get rid of it, but it was gone in a matter of minutes!

Does anyone have a recommendation on how much candy to buy? I'm ordering color coordinated sixlets and m&m's online, and am uncertain how much to buy. The rest of my sweets will be things that I can buy locally, so I'm not as concerned since I'll have the ability to return unused candy.
I plan to use a large apothecary jars for both candies and want to make sure I buy enough to fill them up.
Thanks in advance!.
