I’ve read alot of posts recently (on WB and other websites) about keeping a positive mental attitude whilst TTC, some people believe thats the reason they got their BFP that month.I love reading ‘it just felt different this month’ posts but i’ve never felt that way-every month is just the same (if anything i’m a little more frustrated!) and keeping a persistant PMA does not come naturally to me!! Do you think it really makes a difference?? I’ve got it into my head my negativity is physicially making things harder for me!!

I think a positive attitude probably just brings down a person’s overall stress levels and makes the physiology of the process happen more easily. If your body has high levels of stress markers floating around, it definitely wears on your body’s processes! Focus on being calm and lowering your stress, not on changing your personality!

I was pretty stressed during the cycle when we got our BFP. I had a HSG that cycle, and getting a catheter shuffed up your cervix and then your uterus filled to the max is not very relaxing. Also, I was on a business trip during most of my fertile days, taking OPKs, watching the line getting darker and not being able to BD. Frustrating!
Please don’t feel bad about not feeling upbeat! TTC is stressful! Of course, your should try to stay positive and de-stress, for your own and your health’s sake. But I don’t think you are sabotaging your chances to get pregnant by feeling disappointed and frustrated. If that were true, I’m sure mankind would have become extinct by now.
