Our budget just increased and we are saving thousands on photography since Mr. Tattoo redid our photographers website.
I wanted Still Motion (the guys who did Bakerella’s video. I LOVE her video) but that is way out of our budget. I found a Pittsburgh photographer who actually went to a few workshops with Still Motion and her videos are improving with every client. She just started a business with a couple other cinematographers and I just got a quote.
There are two packages. One is a short edit and the other is a long edit.
Package 1-A short wedding film. $1950. The film is typically 3-5 minutes length and is delivered online and on a DVD.
Package 2-A short wedding film and a longer film $3250. This package incluces the fim describe in package 1 and a longer edit of your wedding day. Usually around 10 minutes.
What kind of package did you get and how much?

We paid 2500 and got a 3-4 minute edited highlight film (set to music, a compliation of the best moments from the whole day) and a 25 minute fully edited filme (set to music, took us through the whole day from getting ready to cake cutting and the reception). We both both of them online, and we got the 25 minute film on 3 DVDs–one for each of our parents and one for us. Our videographer definitely travels, and I would highly highly recommend him. He was one of the least expensive people that we found, and we loooved our videos. PM me if you want to see our highlight video/full length film.

We splurged on our videographer. We picked the videographer on the higher end of our budget because of his quality and end product. We are paying $2,695 for coverage of us getting ready, the ceremony, pictures with our wedding party, and the reception. Included in the package is a Feature Film (included is chapters of each section of the day, he says it is usually about 45 minutes to an hour or so in total), Highlight Montage (3-5 minute trailer), custom DVD authoring, and unlimited copies of DVDs (however many we ask for initially for family and ourselves).
They offered Super 8 and some other really cool options but budget-wise, we couldn’t swing any of those extra goodies.
Here is a link to our videographer’s samples to get an idea of his quality:
ETA: Oh and ours is in HD, as well! He will have two camera guys, too.

We’re paying $1500 for ours. We get:
- 8 hours coverage (includes prep, first look, ceremony, reception)
- 1 – 1.5 hour video with very basic editing
- Raw footage
- Filmed in HD
I think that’s everything. We don’t have any cinematic montages or anything like that. I basically just want video proof of the day. LOL

I cant find anyone to quote under $2500 for Cinematography in the OC/LA area, and thats for about 6 hours and usually 1 manned camera and 1 stationed.
Its definitely something I’d love to have, but unfortunately at this time its not within our budget! =)
I think its super important to get your photographers take on it as well. Because I think they need to be able to work well together and not cut each other off or etc. If that makes sense! Best of Luck Ladies!!
