DH chose a tungsten band that we paid $249 for. We also bought a second, dressier one a few months ago for $25!
FI chose a plain platinum band that's 4.5mm wide. It's going to cost $1950 because he wears a size 12.
My fiance thought he wanted a Carbide or Tungsten band and when we tried them on, he hated them. The only rign he liked is a two tone 8mm gold band. It's $899.00.
My FI's band is 18k white gold with 3 little diamond studs, it will be about $1200, he is a size13. We are also get a tungsten set of rings so that he can wear it everyday, and on special occasions he will wear the bling one.
My FI's band is a 7mm two tone tungsten band, and he's got really thin fingers - a 7.5. It cost us $139, which I was thrilled with!
$2500, for an 18K white gold band! But only because it is Tacori and it is the ring that 'matches' mine.. I say 'matches' because really we could've had any other jeweler make something similiar for 1/4 of that cost...just one of those wedding expenses that we went a bit crazy with =)
Tungstun carbide on overstock.com for $60... exact same one at the jewelers was $250, though they tried to sell it to us 'at cost' for $80 if I bought my wedding band on the spot.
His is Tungstun i only paid like a hundred, actually it was alittle more with shipping...i actually had him look at it before i ordered he loves it, he asks to wear it all the time lol
Well we're splurging a little, Ive always wanted something from Tiffanys so Im getting a simple gold band 2mm for $600 and his will be 6mm will go for $1000, my figures might be off so dont quote me :)
Eeek! He wanted a Tungsten band for $18 from Ebay. He loves it, though, so I suppose that's what matters!
Your guy might want to look into titanium since it's lightweight. My dad got one from a jeweler for $200.
We spent a lot (too much) on his, but it was three-tone gold/hand-braided, so that made it more expensive. If you are looking for something other than gold or platinum, you can probably find something really inexpensive--a few hundred or less, depending on where you shop.

Im going to buy my FI a wedding band- we will go shopping together- but I sorta wanna know what Im looking at from a budget perspective- Most likely there wont be any diamonds in his band- nor would he wear any gold ( both white and yellow )- he sorta wants a Thin band cuz the band he has now is thick and he hates greeting people cuz it tends to hurt his finger cuz it sorta hits down on his skin.. ( poor fella)
