Honestly I coudn't find anything local that could even compare to what we are getting, I think it is a great deal.
Ours will be less than 2,600... It includes ceremony, 4 hour reception, brunch buffet, tables/chairs... All in a BEAUTIFUL old inn! We have access to the pool area, the grassy area, enclosed porch, bar, and library... In addition to the buffet room and main reception room :D

$1700 total for 8 hours the day of ( friday night), includes, tables, chairs, on site guy that is required and a security officer, and a rehearsal time. It is byob and has a long list of preffered caterers to save some $$$. Here are some pics of our place!
My venue cost is $4000. That includes just the venue and security.
I am also required to have them provide the beverages which is about $25 per person.
I am using an outside caterer and they are arranging for chairs, tables and other rentals.
1600 for the rental of the venue for 8 hours. Bringing in absolutely everything else!
Believe it or not, I thought that was a steal at the time. I had looked everywhere and really wanted to avoid the traditional venues.
Here is what we're thinking its going to cost:
Room Rental: $700
Exclusive use of adjoining deck: $200
Food: Approximately $45/person ($3825 - $4500 depending on our guests)
Drinks: $5.50-7.50 for beer, wine or non-premium high balls (So, if we do drink tickets, say $1700-2000)
Plus tax + tips etc
This includes a 3 course meal, no cake, all linens, dishes, servers, bar tender, cake cutting. They also will rent AV equipment to you for a few hundred dollars.
$3500.00

100 chairs
9 round tables (holds up to 10 people)
The barn for the reception
Ceremony and Reception all at the same place.
We are bringing in our own food and drinks too.
Its truly lovely.
ours is $2950 and thats for a castle venue with ceremony and reception area which includes all chairs and set up of chairs for ceremony and reception, table linens, centerpeices, stereo equipment and mics, bridal suite for getting ready, tables and a plan b option in case it rains (we are in seattle area after all lol). Theres no decorating needed at this venue since the garden has a bunch of flowers already! does not include food but they allow you to use whatever caterer you want or bring your own food. love my venue!
Ours is $6500 for:
Our is $3,500 and it includes tables and chairs only.. its beautiful and i think its worth it!
They dont offer catering yet because they just opened.. but we are paying additiona $3,000 just for food.. and about $500 for soft drinks..
@GonnaBMrsB: Hello. I'm getting married outdoors in South Tahoe and am trying to figure out the lighting situation for the reception. What type of lights did you use? What did it cost for just lighting outdoors? Thx!
100 per adult, 50 per young adult. This includes, 5hour top shelf open bar, premium cocktail hour, premium sit down dinner, extra course, cake, chocolate fountain, ice cream bar, international coffee display, grand, viennese dessert display, champagne toast, tables, chiavari chairs, linens, candelabras, rose petals, set up, break down & an ice sculpture.
Our is going to be just under $10,000 at a beautiful country club for:
ceremony space and chairs
reception room
stationary appetizers
plated lunch for approx. 160 guests
beer/wine bar
We spent $2000 and this included: tables, chairs, table linens, set up of table/chairs, and use of the space for 10 hours.
The venue was the #1 imporant thing, being a bride on a budget, you need a beautiful canvas that doesn't need much work to look classy. Some budget ladies get unappealing spaces and try to make them better using decor. But in reality, I think it makes more sense the other way around: to invest in the canvas that needs minimal decor :) just MO.
Venue itself is $7,000. Includes use of Palm House and attached West Terrace, white folding chairs and tables, $2500 beverage minimum and ceremony set up/tear down fee.
On top of this is, well, everything else. DJ, catering and linens, extra bar tabs, you name it. But the space is so darn pretty I just couldn't resist.
haven't signed yet, but the one i love is 1k for ceremony and reception sites, overlooking the ocean. it also has a carousel and a beautiful giant fountain and is surrounded by palm trees. doesn't come with anything, though, so i will have to bring in the chairs and tables and linens, dance floor, etc, which should tack on another 2k.
@KIKI82: may i ask where your venue is?? that's truly excellent for so cal.
We spent $4000 on just the venue alone! Oh, well, I guess we get parking and cheap plastic chairs (which we will not use) too...
Wow...I always forget how inflated prices are around here. We are paying $26,000 which includes the entire venue, food for 200, open top shelf bar all night, 6 passed apps, 2 stationary apps, tasting for 6, rehearsal space the day before, the cake, use of the bridal suite all day/night, transportation to and from the hotel, tables, chairs, linens, and cost for having the ceremony there as well.
In all, it covers almost all of it, other than the music, photographer, flowers. We looked at 5 or so venues and all of them were almost exactly the same price with varying inclusions.
Our venue itself cost $87.50. Yes, you read that correctly, $87.50. But we got it at that price because I'm a member in good standing at the Woman's Club where we're having it. The cost includes tables, chairs, kitchen access. We can use anything in the club, including the silver (punch bowls, cream and sugar bowls, platters, etc.), vases, tablecloths, china, glasses, etc.
Normally, the cost to rent the club would be $850 plus damage deposit for just the auditorium, and it would not include use of anything except the kitchens, tables and chairs. If someone wanted to rent the entire club, as we're doing, I think it would be $1350.
We are paying 8250.00 just for the venue. That includes access to the mansion before my ceremony, tables, chairs, and rental of the seasonal tent and lawn, a half hour rehearsal, a parking attendant, and a coordinator for your wedding.
@Pinkandsparkly: The prices are definetley inflated around here. All the places I looked at were about the same as well.
ours is around 7K just for the venue, tables and chairs. everything else (food, music, decor, etc) is being brought in by outside vendors.
Our reception is just under $3000.00...
The Venue ( Tables and Chairs included)
Food for 36 people
Centre Pieces
Open Bar
Wedding Cake
Champagne Toast
DJ for 4 hours
90 per person and it includes
as of right now, we are just under $8000. this includes
ceremony site with gazebo
reception tent with dance floor, chairs, tables, and linens
time from 330-830
food for 125 people
wedding/ wedding day coordinator
bridal suite
servers
portable bar since wedding is outside (cash bar)
cake/cake cutting & serving
limo service for bridal party
DJ
Centerpieces
3500 for 4 hours and includes tables and chiavari chairs......and thats it. We love the place but sometimes that makes me choke!
Our venue is just over $1300, includes ceremony and reception sites, chairs and tables for reception, parking and use of kitchen.
But our caterer is covering most of the decorating and set up and bringing in linens and stuff that we would have had to rent other wise so it balances out :)

So my fiance and I are DJ's as some of you know. We done a wedding reception at the retired part of town's community complex. It was BEAUTIFUL and the nicest reception we have ever attended. Now that we've set our date and are exploring all of our options we've found out that the rental of the place is $300 (YAY) but you have to cater from them- so all in all it'll be $5000 just for the reception though not including alcohol.
This will include:
I really only wanted to spend $5000 in total- I know I see this laughable too now. So we'll still have an extra say $2,000 for other expenses, not including rings and honeymoon. I love the place and I'm willing to go over budget, my fiance loves the place is ready to book today too. So how much are you ladies spending on your venue?
