Budget: $300 hopefully at Kleinfeld or sample sales

    Actual cost: $599 from Kleinfeld!

I'm on a budget because me and my FI are paying for everything, so I have a lot of restraint and try to stick to budget and have lots of DIY. I think twice before overspending and try to save every way I can.

I went to david's bridal, I wasn't in love with anything, today I went to the bridal garden, samples given by designers; I could see the quality of handmanship was a lot better quality than david's bridal.

Then I went to Kleinfeld, oh the quality was beautiful, I never ever buy designer or at high end stores this was the one time I didn't want to sacrifice quality

but I still had a budget of 300; I was planning to use a gift certificate but the small print was for high end gowns only which bummed me out. Then I found two one was $999, the other $599. Imagine my delight when I found one exactly how I liked for $599, I have to have it taken it, but it's still very beautiful and it's from Kleinfeld; I had no idea I could afford something from there without a coupon, wowow, dreams do come true, it's a little beyond my budget, but 599 for designer and from Kleinfeld, wowowow!!!!It was too big then they started fitting it in, I cried, it was it!!!! My mom wanted the 1000 one but I knew the one I picked was it, it also matched my veil.

Hm, well, I only spent $400 but it wasn't cuz i was necessarily being "frugal". My budget was more like $700 but I'd go up to $1,000. Max. It was a $700 dress and I bargained 35% off the price and walked out the door with it. I got a Maggie Sottero gown, so it's not like I went with some low-end inexpensive designer. I just lucked out with a great dress and a good price. If i'd kept searching I probably would have found a dress that brought tears to my eyes (ok maybe not, i'm not that mushy!) but I tried to look at buying my wedding dress as pracitcally as I do any other item. It has to look awesome for the price and I have to be comfortable with it. And it can't outshine me =]

Yay I can't wait to see all the "no" dresses!

I was going to go all frugal on this, assuming the $$ would need to go toward other, more important things like a kickin DJ...then I found Demetrios dresses and I am IN LOVE, so I'm not sure! I am obsessed with the idea of fabric flowers decorating the dress (not sure what the official name for those is,) and they do the coolest things with them...

I had a budget of 600.00 for my dress and when I went into the store I told the lady and she lead me towards a bunch of dresses. Some were from this year, some from another year, but I didn't care. I don't need the latest fashion to make me happy. About 3/4 of the stuff they have in regular stores I don't like anyways.

Amazingly mine fit like a glove. I only have to shorten it about 2 inches and make a bustle.

So mine was 600.00 plus tax :)

I went in not wanting to spend over $800 without alterations. I went to a Sophia Tolli trunk show and got a dress for $900 with FREE alterations and tax! Score. And I freakin' love it.

I originally intended on only spending $500 on a dress (not including alterations) because I couldn't really justify more... I was trying to stick to a tight budget, I'll be wearing it one day, and I didn't intend on keeping it after the wedding (no where to put it!) But, I ended up finding a Maggie Sottero gown (well, Sottero and Midgely) that was $708+tax. Out of budget, but I didn't really want to go to David's Bridals either. Alterations were $200+tax flat, no matter the size of alterations needed. Could have been a good deal, but I only needed a bustle and a couple inches taken off the bottom, but ah well.
