I have 9 attendants…which even at $25 each ( which I feel doesn’t buy much) I am at $225… I don’t want to be cheap, and don’t want to get them something they wont like or keep. I thought about giving them beauty supplies but all the posts I saw of Brides giving beauty supplies were giving like 3 or 4 other items! I have a (small) candle and a cute reusable bag so far…help me out ladies, do I just need to throw in more money to get them a “good” gift? know it’s the thought that counts but I feel super bad only giving a “small gift”. $25 gets them a lip gloss and a eyeshadow from MAC…that just seems “small”
Am I over thinking this?
How much $ should I spend?
how much did you spend and how many Bridesmaid or Best Man did you have?
If you had a large party would you have spent less?

I only have 3 BMs and I spent around 100 per person. I think there are a lot of things you can do that are free or very cheap to add to it, you can diy picture frames, or the personalized hangers, you could DIY bridal party shirts for them to wear on the bit day with some cheap tanks and some iron on letters from the craft store. You could make jewelry, all kinds of stuff. Or you could do one great gift like a coach wristlet. I just got my girls each one for 30 bucks a piece on the factory outlet online and they are great. And you could STILL throw in a DIY personalized shirt or hanger or something.

I spent about the same amount as they paid for their bridesmaid dresses. ~$110

Oh and as far as the beauty supplies go, ive actually never heard of a bride buying her attendants make up, it’s so hard to choose a color anyway. But I would think people meant more like an emergency kit with things like bobby pins and lotion and all that 99 cent stuff in the travel area at the drug store.

For each of my 4 bridesmaids I gave them:
an emergency kit including various $1 items
personalized tote (which I made myself using materials from Hobby Lobby)
And I probably spent around $32 each

@calypso522: I think that is a fair way to go about it. I would feel really bad if someone willingly spent over $100 to be in MY wedding and then I only spend a minimal amount in comparison!
I spent $100 on each of my BM’s but we also paid for dresses/shoes/accessories etc.

@MsJ2theZ: There are a couple of coach outlets online websites, can I ask which one you used?
@calypso522: That’s a good idea! Though I had all my Bridesmaid or Best Man buy whatever dress they wanted. One spent $50, one spent $30 and one spent $20. My man of honor spent $180 on a tux rental and the other 5 still havn’t bought a dress and the wedding is in 10 days
@MsJ2theZ: The beauty stuff was like body spray, body wash, lotion, all in matching scents…but the brides that got these items also bought clutches, personalized totes, manis etc.

I have 4 bridesmaids and I spent ~75/girl. I got them each a gift card, a bottle of wine, a personalized wine glass and a picture frame with us in it.

I JUST figured out my total that I spent on my bridesmaids today! So far I have spent. $61.xx total on my 6 BMs… so approx. $10 each. But I still may have to help some pay for their dresses. One of my Maid/Matron of Honor just lost her job and she has a son. Another Bridesmaid or Best Man, FI’s sister, is a single mom with 3 kids. We originally had the wedding set for April 2013 at the time I asked these girls to be my BMs, but since we moved the wedding up and gave the girls only 6 months notice, meaning only 3 months to get and pay for a dress, I feel like I should assist some of the more financially troubled girls. So in the end I’m thinking my total per girl will end up being $35 each girl.

I have 5 (with a possible 6–long story) bridesmaids and I am going to pay for them to get their hair done for the wedding. I figure since all of them planned on doing it, it would be my gift. I will probably also find a cute, unique necklace on Etsy or something to give each of them.
My Fiance decided his gift was renting the tux since everyone he knows probably has 5 flasks:) We both wanted our gift to be something that would cut down on the cost of being in our wedding.

I spent about $100 per girl. They all got different things.
I only had 2 attendants….If I had nine, I probably would not have been so generous.

Spend whatever you’re comfortable with. I’ve received bridesmaids gifts ranging from free (yes, my friend actually told us that they were free) to probably $50 or so.
I spent roughly $100 on each of their gifts and between $175-$215 if you count the beauty services that I covered. Thankfully I only had 3 girls so it wasn’t that horribly expensive.

@Angelz_love: The official site which is coachfactory.com. I don’t know about the other sites. You do have to sign up to be put on the list though and invited to their sales
