In SoCal, $270 for adding extra lace to bottom, taking in at waist, and bustling. (local seamstress)

My friend that got married in Novemeber paid $400 (for bustle and hem) at the bridal store where she bought her dress.

Uuugh my seamstress charging $360 for bustle, hem and taking in at waist/bust area.

This seems high but a friend recommends and said did her dress perfectly!

I purchased my dress at Kleinfelds. Alterations are steep there, 850 flat.

I’ve been quoted between $595 and $695 flat, but that includes everything you could need including bustle. I budgeted $1k when I did my original spreadsheet so I’m happy

I paid $250 in advance. If I hadn’t, alterations would have been close to $400! I am currently having my bridesmaids dress for my sister’s wedding altered and it’s $170 to make a size 14 work for a size 2/4 six months pregnant lady!

$600 (AUD) for mine as the skirt has three layers which all need to be taken up. Also needs to be taken in under the arms (which means lifting the lace, taking it in, and putting the lace back in place), and half cups fitted to lift my bust into place.

morganallison :  mine were done by a friend who is a professional seamstress. For my ceremony dress: taken in, let it, taken in, switch bling patch, add tulle to under skirt, hem, make lace bolero (no bustle). For my reception dress: change/add lace to strap and bust. For mom: shorten sleeves, add straps to hold bra in place. For sister: taken in, hem, make bling belt to match mine. Total $300+ tip. I love having a friend to help me out 🙂

the hem was roughly $80

the fake buttons i had added over the zipper was roughly $20-30

the bustle was roughly $120 (I had a 17 point bustle!)

so $220 total, roughly.

Mine are just starting, but I paid 180 flat for hemming, taking it in around the boobs, and a bustle, plus 150 to put in a corset back.
