I find it really funny when brides are asked this question and only tally up the venue and photographer or just the venue. My ENTIRE wedding (dress, photo,dj,alcohol, cake, rings, decor, caterer, honeymoon, etc.) was about $8500.

    Caterer: 800

    Photography: 900

    Cake: 300

    Flowers: 280

    Decor: ~150

We had an original budget of 30k and it is pretty much met (with things we sdont have nailed down figured in) and we are steadily climbing over...

    Dress: 5600

    Veil: 1200

    Shoes: 220

    Church: 2000

    Reception: 4500

    Flowers: 4-5000

    Photographer: 2400

    Wedding Planner: 1800

    Caterer: 12000

    Open Bar: 4500 to start

    Honeymoon: 6000

    Rehearsal Dinner dress: 450

Yea and we still have a lot to do! Some things will fluctuate up or down. I seriously dont know what I was thinking but Im amazed at how expensive a wedding can be and how carried away you can get. Ours is in the city and for about 200 guests, and its an evening Saturday wedding that's formal. Yikes!

The FILs are paying for the rehearsal dinner, the Sunday brunch, alcohol, and the honeymoon and possibly more. Breaking it down makes it scary lol.

Once you factor in the honeymoon, rehearsal dinner, brunch, and misc things like a rehearsal dinner dress, ours will probably be over $40,000. Which is totally crazy. That does include a splurge honeymoon and EVERYTHING else related, including things that will be used/appreciated long after the day, like shoes, RD dress, highlights, that kind of thing. Yikes.

Our entire wedding weekend (getting to Pgh for the wedding, rehearsal/reh dinner, all things wedding-related, day-after brunch & flights back to NYC.  Does NOT include our honeymoon or my e-ring) is looking to come in between $23k-$25k.  The wedding day itself will be about $15k-$18k-ish).  This is for about 130-150 guests (about 25 guests each for rehearsal/reh dinner & day-after party), and we're also providing lodging for our entire bridal party & their dates for 2 nights.

That all said, I still think I can shrink another $1-2k out=)

EDIT: Our honeymoon is hard to pinpoint since we haven't booked anything beyond hotels & flights yet, but we've budgeted $10k for 10 days in Australia.

OMG I sooo envy you ladies who can do their wedding for less than $20k!!  In the area I live just to reserve the venue( not including flowers, dj, photographer, dress. tux alll that type of stuff)  it is a min of $20k!  It makes me crazy!  I should just elope!  I think is is awesome that some ladies do it for I dont want to say cheap because NONE of it is cheap but lets say cheaper than $20K.

Standing ovation for you ladies!!! :)

Mine came out to $25K almost exactly (for 110 guests in NYC).  This includes everything except for the honeymoon (we were gifted airline tickets from my dad and some money for travel from his parents).

We're both finishing up grad school so are on a tight budget....here goes:

dress: 700 (fits like a glove, so no alterations!! yay)

    veil: 42

    shoes: 43

    Hair and Makeup:  will DIY

flowers: 485 (includes 1 bridal boquet, 1 MOH boquet, 3 corsages, 4 bout, pew decor, and 8 little centerpieces)

    church:  775

sit down luncheon reception: 1645 (plus tax and gratuity. this includes food and non-alcoholic drinks for 47 ppl and no rental fees)

    cake: 277

invites:  140 (for 50 invites, reception card, rsvp cards)

    rings: 487

FI's suit: <400 (not yet purchased)

photographer:  free!! (FI's step brother is a photographer. Score!)

Hotel rental at fancy-schmancy hotel for night before wedding: 285

    Honeymoon: to be determined

That comes to 5279 plus honeymoon....but some things will be used longterm such as rings, shoes, and my FI's suit (will be used for business meetings, etc).... so it's more like 4389 for wedding alone

The wedding: around $550 & includes Dress/shoes/vail/tiara. FIs shirt/ties (FI already owns a suit). Flowers. Photographer. Venue & food/punch for a dessert reception of 250 guests.

The rings we're going to get on our honeymoon cause it'll be more fun for us. If we can't find anything, we'll just get rings off of Etsy when we get back. Estimating $100 for rings.

Honeymoon cruise: around $2800 for a 10 day cruise, including travel expenses

Plus, we're going to get my BM/MOH & his GM/BM their gifts on our honeymoon, so I suppose I should add that to our wedding budget. I just don't have a clue what to get them yet! Estimating $200 for that.

A total of about $3600 all together :).

Hm, considering how costs just start creeping up and differences between 'planned' and 'actual' become more glaring, I am afraid to even think about it. But we should be able to be under $20K for our DW wedding, including tickets and accomodation, honeymoon, and rings.

I didn't do a final analysis, but with EVERYTHING, probably around $40K.

Honestly, I know we could have spent less, but we got married in about 8 months, and on NYE, so we didn't have as much wiggle room when it came to vendor shopping as most others. We kind of had to use who we could and go from there. It definitely increased what we spent.

I really have no idea how people spend less than $10K...I wish I had that talent!

    Well here is mine

    Dress $140

    shoes-$2.50

Flowers for myself, moh, 1 bridesmaid and 2 jr bridesmaids-$50

    Bouts for men-$12

    Chair covers for 75- $124

    Chair bows-$24

monogrammed aisle runner-$10 after 50% of coupon at Michels

    rings-$400

    other decorations-$120

donation to the church instead of paying the officiate-$100

    For a total of $982.50

A friend of ours is doing the reception dinner as a gift to us.

We are having the wedding at our house so we dont have to pay for a venue.

Our church is furnishing all the chairs and tables

A member of our church will be providing the music for the ceremony and reception and I think that about does it for us.

As for a honeymoon FI just started a new job and cannot take of work for awhile so we will be honeymooning sometime next year!

We did our's for around 38K.  That included rehearsal dinner for 80 people, hair & nails for bridal party, tuxedos for the bridal party, mine and the flowergirl dresses, dinner/drinks/band/cake for 240 people and brunch Sunday morning for 50 people, and hotel rooms for bridal party for 1 night.  I thought we did really good for the size wedding we had and for all the extras we did like covering the hotel rooms and attire for bridal party.

Um...so far for our 70 guest wedding and reception:

     Shoes $14 ( I love Payless!)

Fall decorations (clearanced last Christmas) $15

    Favors $35

    $50 invitation kits

Female Attendant gifts: $200 (includes hair/wrap/jewelry)

    Wedding/reception site $390

    Cake & sweets $395

    Dress $650

    DJ/vocalist/ceremony music $750

    Photography $1300 (family member love!)

    Total: $3,799

Still must order flowers, (family member love) tux, finger foods (afternoon tea reception) drinks and table coverings, plus rehearsal dinner.

Wedding/reception is a gift of our parents. My personal goal was 5,000. Might go a tad over, but not by much. We'll pay for short honeymoon at B & B, with longer one on vacation.

Sunshine...I am in awe of you!!! Laughing

Our total including our honeymoon (but excluding any food costs because our parents have been gracious to pay for both the rehearsal and reception dinners plus a little extra on the side): $10600

Its a DW for 20 guests...I must say it wasn't any cheaper to do a DW like I thought it might be! But we wouldn't have it any other way :)

Ours will be just over $10,000.  It was my goal to have it at $10,000 and if we do go over it will maybe be $10,200.  This is for $120 guests, open bar, DJ, rings, Decor, flowers, cake, attire, food, venues, photography, ect.  I am very organized and a bargain shopper.  We are doing a honeymoon gift registry so hopefully most of that will be covered.  Our rehearsal dinner is also not included in that figure but we are just doing something small at a house with some take out food.  Fiance's parents will be covering that.

I totally thought, before my wedding, that $10K was SO much money and there was no way I'd go much over that.  Well, ours was somewhere around 3.5 times that if you count every little thing down to rings and honeymoon.  Fortunately, we had a lot of family help and are so grateful for that.

Total $3500, semi-formal with heavy apps and desserts with open bar.  That was for everything.  I did a ton of DIY and am a super bargain shopper.  I wanted grand without the grand price, I would call it Platinum Plated Wedding....LOL.
