  • Wedding: July 2012

Location of Florist: Central NJ

Types of Flowers Used: Mainly hydrangea – but my bouquet has peonies, hydrangea, cabbage roses and calla lillies

Using Greens or Fillers and What Type? Fillers – pink wax flower and stock

Cost of Bridal bouquet (each): $130

Cost of Bridesmaid bouquet (each): $60/each

Cost of Boutonniere (each): $9/each

Cost of Corsage (each): $30/each for moms – $18/each for grandmas

Cost of Centerpiece (each): $45/each (15-17 tables)

Does the Florist Provide Vases? We’re using 2 julep cups and 1 small silver pedestal bowl on each table – the florist is providing these but they are take-aways for the guests

Our overall budget was about $1500-1600.  The florist did a pretty good job of staying within it – but I also loved hydrangeas so that helped A LOT in keeping cost down.  I might have him throw more money into adding more flowers and less filler into my bouquet but I haven’t decided yet.

I can’t answer the questionnaire yet (I’m not getting married until August), but I thought I’d chime in an offer up some suggestions!

You could eliminate the delivery cost if you had someone pick the flowers up for you.  She’s charging you almost $200 so she can load it, drive it, and place them where you want them.  The plus side of this is that if anything goes awry, she can fix it (broken flower head, brown petals, etc).  If you aren’t worried about that, could you designate someone in the wedding party/a family member to get them where they need to be?

I’m literally staring at my florist’s contract so I can tell you exactly 🙂

Location of Florist: South Florida

Types of Flowers Used: roses, spray roses, peonies, ranunculus, calla lillies, orchids, and hydrangeas.

Using Greens or Fillers and What Type? [Y/N and Type] – some greens in centerpieces to make flowers pop as I requested all white flowers 🙂

Cost of Bridal bouquet (each): $200

Cost of Bridesmaid bouquet (each): $300 for 5 bridesmaids so….. $60 each?

Cost of Boutonniere (each): 8 @ $80…. $10 each

Cost of Corsage (each): 3 @ $60… $20 each

Cost of Centerpiece (each): $190 – which are tall white trumpet vases with sunken orchids inside and hanging crystals, topped with a mix of chosen flowers with a touch of greenery and trio of glass candle holders.

Does the Florist Provide Vases?  yes, and candle holders.

And we’re having a branch arch for the ceremony dressed with a mix of chosen flowers – $600 – which they will bring into the reception room to put behind the sweetheart table and they are using the tops of our centerpieces to line the ceremony as well – putting them in gold stands – and heavy petals along the aisle.  They’re also providing flowers and greenery for passing trays & cake table (complimentary), petals and candles for the place card and sign in table (complimentary), and complimentary uplighting for the ceremony.  We opted to reuse our bouquets (since we have 6 of them) for the sweetheart table rather than paying for a separate arrangement.

It also all depends on where you’re getting married.  We got a quote from a different florist in the area, basically for the same thing (except they were half tall and half low centerpieces – instead of all tall like I wanted – and rather than ask me what flowers I wanted, they basically told me what flowers I could get for the price) and their price was $1500 more than the florist we chose to go with.

Oh, I forgot to mention – we are also paying $150 for delivery – which also includes our florist dropping off our bouquets at the hotel for our first look – which is separate from our venue.

Good luck – flowers are EXPENSIVE!!!

I too have this delima. I’m looking for silks and still getting quotes of like 1500.  Very crazy. I’m trying to figure out if I can just do them myself!

  • Wedding: June 2010

Location of Florist: Sydney, AUS.

Types of Flowers Used: White and pink peonies for bouquets (were meant to be white peonies and pink roses but she got it wrong) and centrepieces, white roses for boutonniere’s and corsages

Using Greens or Fillers and What Type? [Y/N and Type] Requested no greens.

Cost of Bridal bouquet (each): $110

Cost of Bridesmaid bouquet (each): $85 (x2)

Cost of Boutonniere (each): $7.50 (x4)

Cost of Corsage (each): $15 (x2)

Cost of Centerpiece (each): $65 (x4)

Does the Florist Provide Vases? yes

Total cost was $700 with $50 for delivering bouquets to my hotel and $50 for delivering centrepieces to the venue and picking the vases up the next day. My only advice would be go for a florist you trust and follow your gut if you don’t quite think they are right for you and your wedding, even if they are the most reasonably priced!
