Just over $200 for massive hemming (7 layers of tulle and satin), bustle and taken in two sizes.

Mine were less than $50, but I didn’t need to have it taken in/let out or hemmed.

My dress boutique said mine would not exceed $275.  I’m having my dress taken in some and they’re creating a bustle.

mine has to be taken in at the shoulders, and a French bustle, otherwise it fits perfectly.  And I needed extra length, and there was no charge for that.  $235

Mine cost right around $220 if I’m remembering correctly. That was the cost for creating a bustle, taking the dress in at the bust, and adding cap sleeves.

Mine was a $400 flat fee.  It was taken in a ton, boning added, French bustle, added cap sleeves.  I was also quoted $650 for the same services minus the sleeves, so I didn’t go there.  But that $600 price isn’t unheard of.  Are they charging you by each individual service?

$200 and this is everything I had done:

    – Bustle

    – Bra Cups added in

    – Sweetheart neckline adjusted

    – Dress cleaned and steamed

    – Taken in 3 TIMES

You’ll get totally ripped off if you allow the boutique to alter your dress – it’s so much better to find someone outside of a dress shop who will alter the dress for you.

My first set of alterations was $500 (that included just the hem and bustle). My dress is all lace so that’s what is contributing to the cost. I still have to have a 2nd and 3rd fitting to have the dress taken in (bodice is way too big) and I was quoted as that being an additional $500. 🙁
