Ours would have been 45$pp for a 4hr reception and 1hr cocktail hour.  They since cancelled serving mixed drinks and are only honoring our signature cocktail at 40$pp…when we realized how small the difference was between just having a signature and a full open bar we called to upgrade and that’s when we found out they no longer offered it :/

I’m confused… are these prices just for having the bar per person? Or food plus open bar?

that price was just open bar. With seated dinner and open bar its about 120 per person.

We had premium open bar for 4 hours for $23/person (just bar price–food was a different bill). An absolute steal here in DC. We did pay extra (cost plus 10%) for a couple of special-order items (alcoholic ginger beer and hard cider) and champagne, but we got to keep the leftover special order items. 80 people.

@fishbone:  Wow!!! You did get an awesome deal! If you don’t mind sharing what your venue is going to be- we will probably have a small reception in the DC area at some point too 🙂

In Miami, we are looking at $43/per person/per hour for premium open bar (not super-premium, and no food included in that price). So, for five hours… times 60 guests… yep, it’s going to be a lot!

I’m not sure exactly but I think under $10 per person. One of my venue requirements was that I find a place that will allow me to bring in my own alcohol – there’s such a huge mark-up!

Um.  I’m not really sure.  We are getting married on a Sunday so our wedding costs were a little weird.  Our venue won’t do any event for under $11,000 no matter the day.  So they basically said they’d do everything (ceremony, 1 1/2 hour cocktail hour, dinner, dessert (with hot chocolate, cappacino, espresso and cordials), 5 1/2 hour open bar, chair covers) for $11,000 for 110 (including tax and gratuity).  So I don’t know how much of that is for the open bar.  So we’re paying $100 per person for everything, not sure what part of it is the open bar.

@kestane:  we got married on the Cherry Blossom. It’s a chartered river boat that docks in Old Town. The charter company do have a smaller boat (the Cherry Blossom fits 100+ for seated dinner on 2 decks).  Can’t say enough good things about their staf. A++++ all the way.

We’re supplying our own alcohol and are expecting to buy about $2500-$3000 worth for 160-180 people. Our caterer supplies the wait staff.

$40 x 140 adults = far more than I want to think about.
