There is a huge range in the cost of wedding photographers – and also a huge range in quality! I’m curious if the quality and cost usually match up. i.e. Do the more expensive photographers consistently produce more professional results?
Post 10 to 15 of your favorite wedding photos and share how much you paid for your photographer. Hopefully it will help other brides determine if the cost is worthwhile for an experienced photographer, or if they’d be just as satisfied with an amateur 🙂
I’ll start! My photographer charges around $4500 for the full-meal-deal. This includes an engagement session, approx 12 hours of shooting on the day of the wedding (2 shooters), hundreds of edited digital photos in full resolution, and a selection of prints.

Wow – great pics and $4500 is a great deal for 12 hours!

@Beelow: You look GORGEOUS. $4500 was a little out of our price range, but your photos look like they’re worth it!
We went with Teal Photography, and our package was $2300. We swapped our included engagement session for an extra hour of shooting, then tacked on one more hour. So total we spent $2400 for two photographers the whole day. Here are the sneak peak ones we’ve gotten back so far:
Well worth it in my opinon! We’ve seen a few more but I can’t post them yet.

I am SOOOO appreciative of this post – I shake my head every time a thread pops up asking solely about price with no consideration for the quality of the images. I would caution you all though about posting specific images here. Unless you own the COPYRIGHT to the images you likely don’t have permission to publish images on a site like Weddingbee. It might be best to just provide a link to your photographer’s website, or your specific blog post if there is one on your photographer’s blog.
@Beelow: That is a crazy good price for 12 hours coverage with 2 shooters AND an e-shoot. I hope your photographer sees this and RAISES THEIR PRICES! DUDE. RAISE YOUR PRICES. hahah.

We went with Mustard Seed Photography, and paid around $3,500. That included an e-session, bridals and the day of.

Our photographer is amazing and I love her style. She is up and coming, but her photos are fantastic, especially for the price. We are paying $1900 (we booked last Fall) for a 1 hour engagement session, 8 hours of photography, 2 shooters and rights to the photos.
We aren’t married yet, but here are some of our engagement pics and a link to her site.

This is the only how much does your photographer cost thread that makes any sense.

@mariematt: Haha his rates are AMAZING for what you get – they start as low as $2900 🙂 He’s only been doing wedding photography for a few years and is pretty young so I’m sure he will keep raising his prices each season.
And that’s a great point about photo rights. My contract states that I am free to share my photos online as long as I use the watermarked versions and link to the photographer’s site 🙂 But not everyone’s photographer is so lenient – make sure you read your contracts ladies!
@mvg120: Wow you look amazing! And you got one heck of a deal on a fantastic photographer!
@Miss_Narrows: Gorgeous! Looks like you got GREAT value!

$1700 for five hours of coverage (not including tip, nor an engagement session). Obviously we don’t have photos yet, but I will share once we do!

All of you look stunning!!
@Beelow: We’ve paid just under 600 Dollars for two photographers plus assistants. We had them from 10 am til 1 am, but we could have called them earlier, if we wanted.
No watermarks on our pics and we own the full rights 🙂
Here are some pics:

We paid $4200 for eight hours and an album!
ETA: These photos are screenshots – which is why the quality isn’t brilliant.

@SoonToBee2013: Wow! Incredible! Did you have some kind of special circumstances? E.g. It was a photographer friend or family member? At $600/wedding that wouldn’t be enough to keep food on the table for one photographer, let alone a second shooter!
Your photos are gorgeous and completely professional – I’ve never heard of such a great deal!

@Miss_Narrows: your bridesmaids flowers are SO beautiful!!!

@Beelow: Thank you!
Well the thing is, we got married in Serbia. Over there 600 Dollars is a lot. His parents first thought I was crazy to spend 600 Dollars on photographers and about 800 Dollars on our videographers. Until they saw the results and also until they saw how much this stuff would cost in Germany, England or in the US.
Most photographers are TERRRRRRIBLE over there, I broke down crying when I first started searching online… hahaha Until I found my photogs. They were seriously one of the few good ones and super cheap 🙂 The chemistry between all of us was perfect and Im happy with the results.
I love your photos! You guys look so sweet together! I have a feeling you guys are good people, not just good looking 🙂 And so far I was always right!
