This is what the Gyno told me when I visited her last week on this same topic: Don’t take baths, shower. Use Dove, it’s a good soap, drink pently of water, if it’s creamy whiteish it’s fine, if it’s a darker color visit a gyno or go to planned parenthoold where they can see you at no cost or a very low donation cost if you can’t afford it.

It was only when I started reading the trying to conceive boards that I realized that is probably cervical mucous. When it’s thicker and white-ish that’s when youre most fertile (or so I’ve picked up from scanning the TTC boards). It seems like it’s normal for 5-7 days during your fertile window, about a week or so after your period ends. If you think that maybe you’re still not normal you can always ask your doctor but I think it’s a regular thing for most women. 🙂

a lot of discharge is long as its not super stinky and itchy..then it could be an infection..I get a lot, especially right before my period…if it bothers you kotex has these barely there liners that I sometimes use that fit on thongs

I think i asked my doctor if there was a way to lessen it..and I dont think there is..its just part of being a woman

i’ve always been told as long as it’s a light color and not a foul odor it’s not a prob!

I used to have quite a bit as a young teen.  It’s drastically decreased, but it was gradual.  I don’t know how much of that was aging and how much of it was BCPs.  My hormones weren’t properly regulated before I was on BCP, which was part of the reason why I started them.  I was bleeding more often than not beforehand.

I used to think I had a lot and then after tracking my period in an app that told me when my “fertile window” was, I realized I didn’t really have a lot ALL the time, it just seemed frequent because let’s face it once a month is frequent when you aren’t paying attention! That’s not to say I don’t have more than average other times, but it’s only “need to change my undies” during my fertile time. Try tracking maybe? I use my period tracker, it’s free and awesome and easy

@alishaloo:  As others have said, if it’s white/clear and not smelly, it’s fine. I used to have quite a lot – I wore panty liners every day and hated it. My gyno said that’s normal and that some women just have more than others.

I used to be the same way in my late teens/early twenties. At 27, I still have some but not nearly as much as I used to have. I asked my ob/gyn about it at one point, and he said that if it’s not odorous and it doesn’t really bother me then it’s totally fine and normal. It’s just kind of annoying.

I’ve always had slightly heavier discharge than ‘normal’, but since I had an iud fitted it’s got even heavier. As long as it’s not smelling bad or yellow/greeny colour you’re ok, but I wear a panty liner most days anyway, because I was very conscious of just how much discharge I had.
