i got mine at david’s bridal and they were $139 (they are short and made of chiffon). typically short dresses are cheaper than long, but not always. you can find some good deals online too, but my bridesmaids preferred to be able to try them on first.

I am looking to stay around $150 if I can.  I think most BM dresses at bridal salons run typically from $120-$250.  Obviously there are ones that cost more and other people have found good deals or independent makers for dresses that are less than these prices.  But in my experience that is about the average range.

It depends on where you go, what you get, etc.  Unfortunately, I can not afford to pay for my bridesmaids dresses, as I purchasing their shoes, gifts, and food for basically the whole weekend. As well as opening my home to them so they don’t have to pay for hotels.

The dresses the girls are getting are Bill Levkoff 329.  One store quoted me $210, one quoted me $185, and we are getting them somewhere else for $150.   Usually, if you purchase the wedding dress at the shop, you will get a discount on the bridesmaid dresses.

There are a lot of other options out there too.  Buying straight from a store like Macy’s or JCpenny’s, etc.

Good luck!

My girls all got theirs from David’s.  I allowed them to choose any short dress in my color.  Their choices ranged from $79 to $119.

I am trying to stay under $100, but it’s really up to my ‘maids what they spend. I gave them the Dressilyme link to their chiffon BM dresses and told them to choose what they liked and could afford. The dresses range in price from $70-150, I think? I am so not comfortable with them spending even $70, but it’s up to them, not me. I know they’ve told me a number of times that it’s okay and that I shouldn’t feel bad, but I do. :

The ones we picked were $175, but we got a discount and after tax they were $153. I thought it was a lot.. but they were all comofortable with it, so I went along.

I let my bridesmaids pick out their own dresses (anything black, in the knee-length ballpoark.)

The most important thing is to discuss with each individual bridesmaid what her budget is for attire (including alterations), and go from there.  If you love-love-love a dress that is over someone’s budget, it is your responsibility to offer to pay the difference.

Mine cost me £165 each and £40 each for alterations
