I fill up every two weeks and it costs about $40 to fill my tank.
For my car I fill up about every 10 days for $60 a tank. I drive an altima and I love it for the gas but will be getting an SUV soon and I'm sure that gas money will jump.
I spend about $40 per week and Mr. LK spends about the same. So $80 total for the two of us.
I spend about 50 bucks a week. I work about 50 kms from home though. Gotta love the yaris
I live in a city and use public transportation to get to work, so about 5 days a week, the car doesn't even move from the garage. I think BF and I have budgeted $50/month total for gas for our shared car.
Even though were I live has the lowest gas prices in the country and I have an extremely gas efficient car (Civic) I still spend 50-70 dollars a week on gas. FI and I live in one town, he works 15 min away, I work 20 min away, and we both go to school 40 min away. We share a car. On the days we do everything its 140 miles we are putting on the car for a single day.
About $50 to fill up and it lasts me 2 weeks. I only drive my car to work and back, or minor errands, and it's all within 10 minutes of home. I also just got a manual transmission and it's made my gas mileage better :) So $25 a week, give or take.
I have a prius and just moved so my commute was cut in half. Also the gas tank is pretty small. I fill up probably once every two weeks, usually about 7-8 gallons each time.
Although, we travel about 6 hours to visit my parents pretty regularly, so that adds a lot more to the gas bill.
Well I work at home mostly, go to the office maybe once/week + driving errands/whatever on weekends... so I only fill up my gas tank maybe once-twice/month. Usually costs about $45 to fill it, so I guess that works out to somewhere south of $20/week generally.
My husband drives to work every day and his car takes premium gas so it costs more, he probably spends closer to 40-50/week.
I used to fill up about once a week and it cost me $40. The DH does the same. Now I take the bus so saving on gas is great.
We barely drive Mon - Friday so maybe $20 a week? We spend a disturbing amount of money on bus tickets instead.
Nothing! Public transit, baby! :)
I spend $104/month for an unlimited Metrocard, and though I rarely used cabs as a poor student, I'd say I prob spend $150-200 a month on them now.
W spend about $100 combined. I rarely drive far but FI drives a total of 3 hours a day to and from work so that adds up quickly. He drives a Ford Taurus and I drive a Focus so neither are gas guzzlers.
Mine is about $50-60 to fill it so it depends how low I let it go before I fill it. I usually spend around $30 a week.
OMG, lucky! I spend 60& a week on gas! I have two jobs and go to school. Gas is killing me! Luckily, my FI works from home, so he spend only weekend money on gas, so it works out. I will be so happy when I only work one job!
It costs me about $45 to fill up but how much I drive my car in one week is really varied. Some weeks I am all over the place and fill up twice and other weeks I can go two to three weeks without filling up. Either way it's a business expense for me since I solely use my car for work.
I spend a LOT of money on gas. I work full time out in the country, but do graduate school in the city, so once a week I'm putting in almost a full tank just to get to school and back. My SO lives 2.5 hours away, so it is a tank and a half to go see him. And my work has me driving all over the county sometimes, but thanksfully that is reimbursed. I only live 3 blocks from work, so I really don't have to pay to get here! Also, I really don't have family or friends close to me, so that adds the miles up too.
It costs about $44 to fill our tank and we go through one tank a week.
Our grocery store has a gas rewards program that’s linked to our loyalty card that gives us $0.10 off per gallon of gas for every $50 spent in groceries. We don’t cash it in until we have atleast $1.00 off per gallon so it averages out to one week per month where we spend only $25 or so for the tank. Right now we have $1.80 off per gallon. I’m saving it up until were at $3.00 off so we’ll have a VERY inexpensive gas week.
It costs about $30 to fill my tank, and I fill up 3x every 2 weeks, so about $45 a week on gas. It's a 60 mile round trip to and from work 5 days a week, plus various other errands throughout the week.
@UpstateCait: do you grocery shop at PC?
I sold my car and live fairly frugally, so I have no money towards gas personally.
My husband also works from home right now and does things within our neigborhood( so he can walk) and does school from home, so all gas is based on trips to the store, and various errands and things. I'd say at least 60 bucks a week [booo we have a jeep]. Our Church is the next town up and requires lots of driving, so thats the biggest gas bill.
If I'm not driving to see my SO, then I fill up about once every two weeks and spend about $40, so about $20/week. If I do see him, then it's $40 a week.
Not so much anymore. I fill up my gas tank every three-four weeks now. I live 5 miles from my work. Shopping/errand needs are very close by.
When I lived 30 minutes from work and from places to shop, I was spending $40 a week.
So, I'm probably spending $30-$35 per month on gas now.
ETA: The last time I filled up was on 11/27. I am just now between a quarter and half a tank. Wow. I'm impressed.
@Eva Peron: Yeek, what kind of Jeep do you have? Mine takes $50 every two weeks or so and I drive it all over town :)
I take the train to work and the train is less then a mile from my apartment. So I spend about $45 every two weeks on gas. I take the train for free since my job pays for the pass. Everywhere that I need to go is very close to my apartment, gym, grocery stores, bank, target, EVERYTHING. So I dont have to drive very far. I am very thankful for that. My fiance drives to work everyday and he spends about $40 per week on gas.
I think I fill up my tank about 15x a year - and that includes on long distance trips. Good gas mileage + city living.
But before you get too jealous, gas ends up being like $4.50/gal - the downside of city living! :)
I spend less than $30 a week and I have a 30 mile commute each way twice a week to clinical and a 20 mile commute each way twice a week to class.
When people call my hyundai accent a "pregnant skateboard" I just laugh thinking about all the cash I save by driving the tiny little thing!
