It depends.  DH’s birthday is right before Christmas, so sometimes I’ll get him a really big gift and have it be for both birthday and Christmas.  If it’s just a birthday gift it’s usually in the 50-100 range.

Usually around 100 for his gift but we do an at home poker party every year for his birthday so we spend another 150 in food and beer plus 100 in poker, unless he wins.

@SparkleBee11:  last year I took him skydiving, it was like $300. This year I bought him $70 shoes and baked him an apple pie from the apples we picked at the orchard

During college I was lucky if I could pull together $25 to spend on him. Now I spend about $100. I would probably spend more if there was something I knew he really wanted.

@SparkleBee11:  Exactly!  Same here.  My birthday is a couple days after Christmas and, as an example, last year my parents offered to get this 100-year-old dying tree cut down on our property as a gift to both of us, for both birthday and Christmas.  It was originally going to cost about 3 grand, which was why it was our only gift, and we were psyched they offered.  🙂

Yeah normally DH and I spend around 200ish on each other (like 200 for both birthday and Christmas for one person, so 400 tops for the whole season) unless finances are tight, or unless there’s some big splurge that one of wants, then we spend a little more.  Works out pretty well.

My SO’s birthday is the day before mine, but we both spend around 100. I like to make him feel special and we don’t buy a lot of stuff throughout the year so Christmas and birthdays are opportinities to get the other things they need and want.

@SparkleBee11:  It really depends on our financial situation. Whenever we’ve had extra income, though, I’ve spent up to $150, but I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than that.

It depends on our budget for the given year. It’s been as high as $500 and as low as $25.

I usually just re-stock him for his birthday (cologne, boxers, socks, undershirts) whatever he needs more of. So less than $100.

    I’m really broke, and I s

pend about $40 on a present or two and a drink. I’d love to spend more (it would be so much easier to figure out what to get him if I could afford gadgets!), and I think basically I’ll always spend as much as I can on something he’ll love. I can’t even afford to buy him a cake and a meal, so I make up for that by making the cake and a nice meal myself 🙂 But it’s also a little hard on me because it’s only 2 weeks before our dating anniversary! Luckily we’ll have a different anniversary to celebrate soon, so that’ll take some pressure off 🙂

I have gotten him new lenses and new cameras the last few birthdays. He was gonna get them anyway so it was a good excuse. Around $1000. And then I pick up some small things like socks, new razors, chocolates.

    I said 150-200.

SO LOVES baseball, so the past two years (and it’ll probably continue) I’ve got him the mlb.com baseball package.  It s only 24.99 a month (Or I can pay 125.00 roughly up front), and then I usually get him a fancier scotch whiskey than his fav 35.00 glenfiddich.
