I believe my ring was around 3k-4k plus the cost of the gold (we supplied the stones), this was for completely custom through an independent jeweler.

I would shop around jewelers in your area who are even willing to go custom, we noticed a lot do custom by picking pieces from a catalog.

It depends on what you want made. Generally it doesnt cost anything extra to design a ring. I had my wedding band made and the price was no different than the other rings in the stores.

@stephanie63087: I forgot to mention- The jeweler we went with hadn't done anything this intricate before so the cost for labor was much higher. Her cousin's e-ring was I think ~1k (her fiance didn't have a well paying job and hadn't been saving that much so I know it wasn't tooo much) and that was for I believe a solitaire.

@Knubbsy-Wubbsy: yea im worried that this is gonna be out of my price range because its so intricate and would involve setting lots of stones.

It wouldn't be cheap, especially with the intricate design you are hoping to copy.

I would almost recommend looking into having it dipped in rhodium to eliminate the "itchy" feeling rather than making the ring again from scratch.

It depends, but I think it is really reasonable, comparable to what it'd cost to buy a similar style. I had a ring of my grandmother's remade. Not as intricate as yours but it did have multiple stones, etc and was under $1000 (since I provided most of the stones). My husband's wedding band was under $2000, and that was totally custom with 8 very small diamonds. Never hurts to ask for a quote from a few jewelers.

FYI- the cost of gold AND diamonds is up 20% higher than it was in the beginning of the year.  I ended up cancelling my custom wedding band because of this  :-(  Good luck!

@stephanie63087: I'd check out Etsy. I had my wedding band custom made through Daniel M Jewelry for less than $500. He does CAD drawings and everything to make sure it's what you want before making the ring.

My engagement ring was custom made by a jeweler in Houston: Dickinson by Design, who also does a lot of work through the internet as well as in person. My design is not as intricate as yours but you may be able to find something reasonable since you are providing the metal and the diamonds. The cost of my band without the center diamond was ~$750 for 14k white told including 6 tiny diamonds in the scrollwork.

I'm not sure what the total cost would be.  We took my wedding band in to be engraved to match the design on my e-ring and it was $285 for the engraving and sizing. I provided the ring (with the diamonds already set), that was just to have them engrave 3 sides of my band all the way around.
