Keep in mind I went for my honeymoon in 2008.  For 6 days/5 nights it was $3.5K for the Beach front rooms (Which was the room better than the lowest price) at Couples Sans Souci.  That included room/board, food, booze, airfare and transportation.

    Also I booked through AAA

Fiance and I love Royal Carribbean–their ships are fun and casual, plentiful food, good ports, clean/modern spaces onboard, great shows.

we paid just under 5k for our week at Couples Swept Away (including airfare and airport transfers) BUT we went during valentines day/presidents day, we booked only 2 months in advance and our resort was booked solid when we inquired – our travel agent was able to get a room released for us but it was their most expensive room. We jumped on it and it was totally worth the price for us BUT i really think you can go for cheaper. Check out couples negril, its a tad cheaper than CSA.

Cruises are so much fun too! we are thiking of going on another one this year.  ultimately the price might be a little less but there really wont be too much different because you will have to pay for drinks (alcohol and soda/juice) as well as any excursions you choose to do or eating off the boat.

you really can’t go wrong either way. Cruises are so much fun but couples was just so relaxing.

I say cruise – FI and I were looking at Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon, but now for my post graduation present to ourselves.  RC has the nightlife we want, along with the pricetag we like.

They are expensive- 3-5K! I couldn’t believe it when I priced them out! For that amount I would want to go tour multiple countries in Europe, which is exactly when I ended up booking!

@tiki429:  I got the same as you………ours was just under $4k for 8 nights. I’ve seen other people get cheaper prices though. Talk to a travel agent.

@sweetpea87:  I really encourage you to talk to a travel agent, depending what time of the year you go, you may be able to get cheaper pricing. DH and I also took a higher-end room….I think I’ve seen on here before where posters have had a Couples HM for under $3k.

The big unknown right now might be flights – with gas going up so much, my guess is flights will too.

I can’t remember the actual numbers right now, but I think for a grand suite on the Freedom of the Seas, the week after thanksgiving, for 7 nights, it was going to be $4K.  So for $3K, you can absolutely have a great room!

We just booked Couples and it was $2700 just for the hotel for 6 nights.  No idea what they flight would cost, we used miles.

If you go on a cruise, we went on Norwegian and it was awesome!  A little less “party” than like Carnival or something, but you can still get your drink on.

We found some CRAY good deals on http://www.travelbyjen.com several times.  I highly recommend checking out the options there for all-inclusives.  I wouldn’t go to Sandals/Couples, personally.
