I’m having a buffet style dinner for 150 people. I’m setting the table with silverware so my guests do no have to juggle in the line. How many extra sets do I need to have on hand just incase some hit the floor, etc?

@partyplanner83: When I used to work tables, I maybe replaced cutlery a handful of times. So I would guess maybe have an extra 5% ? Are you self-catering?

I agree with @_Adelaide_: , 5% is enough. I used to work catering also and it was usually only a few people at events that dropped stuff. Maybe a few more if you’re expecting a lot of young kids.

@_Adelaide_: Not exactly self catering, but my catering company does not provide cutlery or dinnerware. I’m buying my own silverware because it is cheaper than renting so I just want to make sure I have enough.
