Are you talking about buying or renting a tux? I think $170 for buying one is a good price! Our groomsmen paid $125 each to rent a tux from Friar Tux and they were ok with it since its a pretty standard price in SoCal
Well, ours were $170. They were these gorgeous Calvin Klein shadow stripe tuxes. We both thought they looked more elegant and less prom-esque than the other tuxes at MW Tux. We both just loved them (and DH doesn't care for clothes much). So, in order to make it cheaper on the boys, we told them they didn't HAVE to wear tux shoes, just black shoes. $15 saved! And their own black dress socks. Another $5! And then we put $50 on each tux to bring the cost down instead of giving them cufflinks. We did gets lots of compliments on their nice, unique tuxes. We just felt like the other ones looked cheap in comparison to the gorgeous calvin klein ones.
And nobody noticed they didn't have matching shoes! Seriosly you cannot tell in pics. The tux costs came down to about $105 with the MW Discount. The guys were all like "oh man you didn't have to do that!" and typically, they said they pay anywhere from $100 to $150 easily.

So as with everything with this wedding I have a very specific picture in my head of what I would like FH to be wearing and of course it isn't your usual bargin $60 suit. After a good 20 minutes in the store and making the poor lady mix all sorts of stuff to find exactly what I had in mind (it wasn't that bad but she was SO helpful) I was not prepared for the price tag. $170 for everything but underwear (I think we can handle that). I know it is exactly what I had in mind but feel guilty making the groomsmen pay all that. We have considered helping pay but don't know what we could swing or what would be expect. What do you think? What did you pay?
