(Closed) How much is TOO much to spend on Bridal makeup?

That sounds really expensive. I am paying for 4 hair & makeup applications [including myself, which was double the price of the bridesmaids] and it’s costing me $600 total, including the fee for my trial.

There were others I could have went with that were cheaper, but I really liked this salons work.

My makeup is 175 and my bridesmaids are 75-90 each and I thought that was a lot!  I live in the Boston area

jillianstoday:  Holy Crap!!! That is way too much.  My opinion is either practice and do it yourself or look into a local beauty school.  Talk to a teacher and see if they have any students who excel in makeup application.  I am a recent graduate of a beauty school and I have seen some amazing artists.  I am also a bride, we are getting airbrush makeup and I believe it costs $55 per person.  Good luck

I wouldn’t pay more than like $60-75 for bridal make up. Mine was $25 and turned out great, just had to bring my own foundation.

That’s way too much. My SIL and I got ours professionally done. Mine was about 70. Hers was 100, and it was one of the pricier MUAs in the Toronto area as well. 

I second the PP about finding a beauty school in your area.

I paid $1600 for 9 of us in the NYC area. In this area I’ve never heard of anyone paying less than $100 for a very good person. I would think $500 for 3 people is a good amount. Our amount was just for makeup and not hair. I’m really into makeup so using someone from a beauty school was definitely not happening. What about using an artist from a makeup counter at your local Nordstroms or Saks? If you like their makeup you can try it and they may be less expensive….

Tell the MUA that you just need “special occasion” makeup. When you say bridal that automatically ups the price

That is mucho money . That is to crazy to spend, I would try local salons they should be cheaper.
