Just wondering how much you are spending on photography and what it includes. are you getting a photobook or prints through the photographer or printing it yourself?
Our package is $800. It includes 4 hours of coverage, 100 edited prints and a CD of all images (enhanced). It was an extra $200 for the CD but I really wanted to be able to make copies.
Our package is 2840 and it includes...
- Engagement shoot with all edited pictures on cd
- Guest book made of e-pics
- full day coverage (8:30ishAM-10pm)
-all edited pics on cd
Ours is $1800
Includes:
an e-shoot with 2 photographers
8 hours coverage
All pics on a disc
Wedding guest book 40 sides - with photos from the e-shoot
And 200 prints.
I just looked up my photographers and if we had waited til now to book it would cost us an extra $150, yay for booking a year in advance :)
I'm an aspiring photographer, and I have quite a few friends in the business. One of them is going to do mine for $300. It will only include a cd, but he said he would give me the originals so I can edit them myself, which was really important to me, as well as ones that he edits.
$1000. CD of edited images and a few prints. All day coverage.
Ours is over $2,500, and it inlcudes prints, CD of edited pics, and an album.
Ours is 1300. It includes 4 hours of shooting and a CD of edited images (100 pics per hour of shooting). I'm having a small wedding on a Sunday so instead of a traditional package, I found a photog who was willing to charge me hourly to keep costs down.
wow, NY is so expensive. It's hard to find a package that starts under $3500
From my experience, you don't have enough categories. At my first wedding, the photography was $4200. This time, we're spending $2900 ($2500 for wedding + $400 for e-pics).
We're getting 1 photographer all day, unlimited hours, unlimited locations; all photos, high-res, fully edited (I repeat, ALL photos); all photos online downloadable for free in full quality for one year (plus to us on DVD); all photos backed up on 2 different computer servers for 10 years.
@lilsweetie: i paid 1300 for a photobook, another book with prints, 5 hrs of coverage, an enlargement (dont know the size) with texture not the plain print and an edited video! pretty sweet! I married in Mexico though!
Trying to decide right now between just coverage (full day + engagement session) or coverage + album.
We'd pay 3200 for the former, 4100 for the latter.
We are going to pay a little over $3800 but that one 10hr photographer, a 6hr 2nd photographer, 10hr videographer, with album, flash drive of all photos, 3 DVDs of edited ceremony/reception and a hightlight reel. But we also added two parent mini albums and an engagement session
4000-4500. We get a video as well and AMAZING albums that he puts together for us. My good friend just got her pictures from the same photographer and I am SO excited!
@Taylor4: $900 more for an album is pretty decent if it's a coffee table style album.
I'm impressed that so many people have found such great deals. In my experience, it was basically impossible to find a good photographer that was less than $2,500. Most of the photogs i came across were all in the $3000-$4500 range, but I also live in a very expensive part of the US.
I'm lucking out-- my dad and brother are both photographers so they are going to be my photographers! Free!
1500, i get 2 shoots of my choice (engagment, bridal, boudoir ect) 7 hours w/ 2 photog at the wedding (getting ready, first look, ceremony and reception). All high res pic's on a dvd.
FI has a professional printer, and one of my BM owns a print shop so she's doing our albums.
$1675, but we're getting a great deal because I used my small business relationships/connections. It's usually double that. Two shooters, 8 hours of coverage, engagement photos, touch ups and all rights to photos. They do gorgeous work and I can't wait to see the results.
Videography is another $1500 from another company.
Ours was $2850 plus tax. Included engagement session, and 8 hours on our wedding day with two photographers as well as basic prints of 500 photos, and all photos on disk.
@SerenaSF: I think the cheaper packages probably have a different quality of photography and postproduction that the rest of us are looking at. I found less than about $2200 for quality photography was impossible, and I'm in a moderately priced area. Anything less than that was someone who does wedding photography as a hobby/side-business. I wanted an actual professional.
Our package is $3570 and includes:
Engagement shoot
Engagement photos on disc
2 photographers
10 hours of wedding day photography
Wedding photos on disc
10 x 10 40 page flush mounted wedding album
Creative slideshow with images as well as video clips of the day
Online gallery of images
We didn't want to spend over $3000, but decided to go with it since the package includes an awesome album and the engagement shoot. Not to mention our photographer's amazing!
Ours was $3000 including tax. It includes two photogphers for unlimited coverage and full rights to the pis. It is a husband and wife team and I really liked their style so we splurged.
Our photog is $1850.00 and includes:
We're paying 2500 for photography, but if we want the digital prints, its going to be an extra 500 -_- This price does include an epics session though.
mine was $1500, although her actual price is typically $2500. i had included 6 - 8 hour coverage and all high res edited pics on DVD plus a proof book all pics. an album would have been $500 extra.
Our package cost us $1700. Her rates for 2012 have since gone up to like $2100 for the same package.
It includes:
5-7 hours of coverage
2 photographers
a disc of all edited images w/copyrights for printing
$100 print credit for prints of choice
Ours was $1200. We got 8 hours of coverage with 2 photogs and we received 1400 edited images to use however we want. Our photographer was a friendor and we live in NY where everything is expensive :/
I am very lucky that the lady who did my e-pics here in Vancouver (I met her because her husband works with my mom) is planning on vacationing in Maui during my wedding this summer. She offered to do my pics for a good price because of her connection to my mom.
For $1800, she is going to do coverage from getting ready-first dance, two photographers (her husband is her second shooter), I can't quite remember how many edited photos but enough that I was happy with it, a disc with all the photos that I can print myself, and a professional album. I was so happy because I was worried I would have to hire someone in Hawaii that I had never met.
FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i lucked out!!! we have 3 pro photographers that will be attending our wedding ;)
$2700
From when I wake up until we go to bed
2 photogs
Rights to photos and high res disc of all photos edited
2 or 3 albums (the photobook kind)
$250 print cred
4200- 7 hours, an album, and a cd of high res photos with printing rights. I decided to spend a little more and get less "perks" than I could have with some other photographers, but I decided on amazing quality over quantity. No regrets :)
Mine was 2850 but we got 10% off for paying in full upfront. It includes:
$1500
2 photographers
8 hours
cd of images with print release
$300 print credit
Our's is $1700. It includes 2 photographers for 8 hours, all Images on Copyright Free CDs or DVDs, album with 200 4x6Prints, top 40 Images (Refined), 1-16x20 Print, 10- 8x10 Prints, 15-5x7 Prints, and online Proofing.
FWIW, my photographers are amazing and do a ton of wedding photography. They are professionals as well. It is possible to find excellent photographers without spending a ton of money.
@BoiledPNut: I agree... a lower price on photography doesn't always mean lower quality. My photog is a professional with beautiful work and our package is under 2k as well.
Free! (!!11!1eleventy!)
We're having my FH's aunt shoot our wedding, along with my dad who's doing video and some photos.
ETA: We will of course have to pay for our own prints/photo book. But that's OK with me. Photobook will likely be around $50, a large print woodmounted is $50-$75, and of course 4x6s from a photo store are, like, $0.50 each I think. So if we're not gifted with the above, we'll be spending maybe $200 post-wedding?
The photgrapher I'm leaning towards is $3600, and it includes:
I'm trying to negotiate for larger canvases bc I don't really want an engagement session and only need usage rights on the photos rather than Copyright.
