Mine is estimating to be $1900. It’s in a Long Island, NY church. Happening December 2015, and includes premarital counseling, the space, a Unitarian Universalist minister. Doesn’t include flowers and aisle decor.
So I’m just wondering, how much/was your ceremony, when was it, was it secular, and what area do you live in?

We are getting married at a historical home/mansion, it cost us $80 to rent with $100 deposit. Included tables and chairs, we have to bring everything else in. Ceremony will be on the lawn, with cocktail hour inside the home, and reception to follow in the reception hall which is located behind the home.

Our ceremony will be essentially free, minus flowers and chair rental. Our officiant is a long-time friend, and did our pre-marital counseling for just the cost of the assessment ($35). Our marriage license was $40.

- Wedding: October 2014 - Brussels, Belgium
$0! I’m really excited about that. We’re doing it at city hall in Belgium which would normally be €250/$320, but there are select free days every month so we picked one of those. The license will cost us about $40 though. Belgium requires city hall weddings (I think it’s the only thing they recognize as a valid wedding) so we figure that’s enough.

Our ceremony and reception were in the same space, a winery. I believe the invoice said it was ~1500 for the space/chairs/set up etc. All decor was extra, and we were married by a justice of the peace (had to pay a fee for that too.. maybe 75$?)

Oh, I can’t edit but my officiant was not included, she was $600 + hotel room for the night of the rehearsal so she didn’t have to drive back home.
If I added together the cost of everything [officiant, space, decor, unity ceremony, flowers, ect] it is probably somewhere around $2k total.

catpeaches: Not sure how much yet, since the venue is same as the reception and the minister is my own. We have to ask her about the typical gift amount. I just had to reply that I’m super excited to see another UU on this site!!!

catpeaches: that seems a like its overpriced. I paid a “suggested” donation of $500. We got married in a Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY and we also got premarital counseling and had to do the pre-cana.

i got married in a catholic church in central california.
the church fee was $400 (or maybe $450? i can’t remember now)
musician fee was $200
our pre-marital counseling session was $50
our nfp class was free, but we had to purchase the kit, which was $160
and we gave our officiant a $50 “tip.”
so all together it was about $860.
