When I graduated from my undergrad I had no debt and no money.

I had a job and was 28 so I had a little student loan debt and a lot in savings. when I left college after a year and a half at 19 I was definitely negative, sadly in consumer debt Only. I was not responsible with money at all at that point in my life

I had about $2500 in my bank account and $37000 in loans so -$34,500.

I only did a one-year certificate program and saved my butt off so I could take the year off and focus on my studies.  At the end of my program, I had, tops, $300 to my name.  My parents didn’t make me pay rent, otherwise I would have been screwed.

@alexa62:  I had about $6,000 in my savings account and a little more than $21,000 in student loans. No credit card debt (I didn’t trust myself enough to get one) or car loan. So I had about -$15,000.00.

I had about $5000 in student loans and about $1500 in the bank when I graduated, so -$3500.

I had a grand total of $23,000 when I graduated college. Every single penny went to buying my first car, brand new, 100% no debt. I needed a car, so I purchased one (but my parents still paid for the car insurance until I got my first career job). Up until that point I had been using DH’s parents’ spare vehicle to get around.

I had no debt, as my college was paid for through scholarships and my parents (about 50/50), so I was very lucky. When DH graduated he had $50,000 but that is because his grandma had passed away and she left him $50,000. He also had no debt as his parents paid for his college as well. However, he spent that on a downpayment for a house.

Oh wait I voted wrong because I can’t read…I had about 23k in loans, plus some cash. I accidentally voted -50k to -25k, but should have voted -25k to 0.

Although that was undergrad. I decided to go back to school, and after grad school I’ll have about -50k…so I voted correctly for how much I have after grad school, but not for undergrad.

@alexa62:  Combining my very small savings with my debts, I am worth (-17 000) according to my bank. The number will probably lower a little bit as I will probably end college in August and start working on September 2014. I’ll still be in the -25K to 0 range.

I had about 30k in student loans and maybe 1k to my name when I graduated undergrad. (Which wasn’t bad considering my college cost $40k/yr – I got a lot of scholarships.)

Grad school was in the sciences so it was paid for and I got a stipend, through TAing and grants.
