How much money shouuld I give as a wedding gift?

Give what you can without breaking the bank 🙂 

Sometimes I’ll take a look at the registry and just give the average amount of a decent item on there.

That calculator is wack. It told me that I should have given $250 to a midwest wedding that I went to last month. If my fiance and I are attending together, we give between $100 and $150.

$100-150 is what I would give in your area and your case but give what you can afford

 If it were me, I would give them $250. But thats me… I would say no less then $150..

@cmbr:  I just got the same thing. Flew out for a festivity, wedding is in MI, two of us flying out for the wedding to attend at $325. Dang. That’s a lot!

@LilRhodyGem:  Yeah — $250 is 1/100 of what I make PER YEAR (dirt poor grad student), and the “calculator” took that into account. I’m convinced that website was created by a money-hungry bride or something.

That calculator is definitely bogus: $250 for the informal wedding of a casual friend? Negative.
