How much more did you love your dress once it actually fit you?

@FutureMrsT1221:  Looking forward to seeing you in yours! I happily walked out with the one that “fit like a glove”, but the day before the wedding it was very tight (gained weight on birth control) so there was a lot of anxiety about wether or not it would look good. The day came, we figured something out, and it looked beautiful — as will yours, I’m sure!

I loved my dress so much more when it was altered and fit me perfectly. Such a huge difference.

When I looked back after i bought my dress, i was kinda nervous bc i felt like my stomach was poking out and I had arm fat in the back…they assured me it was because they were clamping the dress together since it was so big on me.  When I got the dress…it fit sooooooo much better than the one I tried on…I couldn’t stop smiling.  So hang in there, you will fill so much better once you see that it fits!

There was a big difference, let me show you:

My mom actually flew down from NYC to see this dress in person because of how ill-fitting it was. My bridesmaids were kind of doubtful, and even though I knew it was the one, it was pretty hard to see.

And then voila, still needed to be hemmed at this point, but you can see what I mean.

Fit is everything!

I totally agree with OP – fit and alterations completely change how the dress looks. I’m doing my final fitting this week and I’m estatic about how my dress fits, the alterations were subtle but they totally work!!!! First picture is before alterations, the second is after.

Love the before and after pictures!

@FutureMrsT1221:  After gleaning suggestions from Bees, I decided to have myself sewn in 😀 The snaps on these two back straps (on my otherwise backless dress) kept popping open when I breathed in deeply, so one of my bridesmaids sewed them shut. SO much more relaxed knowing I was securely in place all day!

We gave the groom a small pair of scissors in a fancy leather case especially for that evening 😉
