$1,000-2,000 I would kill for that kind of money to spend on clothes and my wardrobe needs a serious kick in the keester – it looks old and worn. Seriously – I should take 1/2 of my tax return and put it into my closet!!!

$50-$100. I dont buy clothes very much. I think this year I’ve bought two shirts and a pair of jeans.

@alishaloo:  Oh maaaaaan…..I always get deals, but I pretty much shop for clothes all year long because I lust after them so bad. I become obsessed with certain things, and then buy ridiculous amounts of them…I would estimate about $300 a month..sometimes more, sometimes less. There are months when I’ve spent close to 600, and some where I didn’t buy anything, but they average out. I am a huge online shopper…..@ The Loft, Gap, and J.Crew Factory religously.

Uhh. Thinking about it.. I spent a LOT of money on clothes (probably less than $1,000) but I don’t think it’s too much less.

To be fair I only shop at two stores–Anthropologie and ModCloth–because they are the only places where clothes are cute and trendy that actually fit me, and the clothes do cost a little more. BUT I always look at sales stuff and use discounts before I ever look at full-priced things, unless if it’s something that I really really want and I can justify the expense to myself.

Per month though, I set myself a budget of $150 for clothes. Gifts of cash or gift cards don’t count towards that total.

Most of my clothes come from the Salvation Army Thrift store – there is a really awesome one in my area and the clothes are so much more interesting. However I have a boot fetish and that tends to drive up the total amount I spend on clothes.

@alishaloo:  I sell a lot of stuff on eBay especially “going out” outfits because I dont like to repeat them! I think that helps

I said 2,000-3,000 but that’s of my own money. At least twice a year my patents spoil me and take me on a shopping spree and I will spend another 2-3,000 each time. It’s nice to be spoiled once in a while.

I haven’t bought new clothes in 2 years.. so under fifty bucks? I spent maybe 10 on socks and underwear last year.

@alishaloo:  It’s only because I live at home until the wedding, and I spoil myself…once there’s a mortgage or rent, my habits have to die (a little bit…. :-/ )
