We're doing favor boxes with homemade goodies in them for a friend's bridal shower. Right now we are planning on preparing 60 boxes - either 4x4x3 or 4x4x2 tuck top boxes (white boxes with a flap top)

Can anyone tell me how much ribbon to buy to decorate them? We plan on either tying the ribbon around with a bow on top or just folding it over and securing it with one-sided tape on the bottom of the box w/ a sticker on top.

Do you think 100 yards of 1/2" or smaller ribbon will be enough?

also I would love to know the cheapest place to get ribbon. Is there a good website out there or should we just head to Michael's/Target?

i had an issue with how much ribbon to buy and this is what someone else told me to do...

take a piece of thread or other kind of string lying around your house. tie it around your gift box to how you want it and cut it to be the perfect length you'll need. measure that string and take that length and then multiply it with however many boxes you have. then add about 1-2 feet to that measurement and you should know how much ribbon to buy. Miss Texas, that totally helps! And it's so simple, makes me wonder why I didn't think of it. Ha. Thanks so much...now I just need to order the boxes.

If anyone has any recommendations on where to buy ribbon pls let me know.
