I’m having a live 3 peice band who will aso DJ and MC for 1000 for an entire night.

I feel like I’m getting a really good deal here.

@Jenny_Loo_Davis:  Given that you are in Southern California I’m going to assume that you are in one of the most expensive places in the US (especially, say if you’re Orange County). For that reason, I think that $1500 – $2500 is what I would have expected for a good DJ in your area

@Jenny_Loo_Davis:  ours is $1150 for 5 hours – we live near NY so it’s not too bad. I think your price sounds about right.

your price sounds great.  Mine was maybe $1300 or $1400, but I also had them do the music for the ceremony

we’ve been quoted about $900-1000/5hrs by all of the DJs we’ve spoken to, and we’re in the Midwest. I think you’re getting a great deal, as long as the DJ is good!

I’m paying $700 for 5.5 hours.. but I got $200 off for booking within 1 week of a bridal show. I’d say your deal is pretty good! $1000-$1500 is probably the norm. in my area.

@Jenny_Loo_Davis:  given the area, I would expect to pay over $1500

I live in Brooklyn NY and had my wedding in Brooklyn NY, we had a DJ and 2 MCs, we hired them for 5 hours, and paid $2,000. But we in that we got a lot of extras and they were two plasma screen Tvs for the montage videos we wanted to play, and we also had Zap shots, which were random shots of the guests at the wedding. We got a great deal, a package like that where I live would go for at least $3400. My sister was friends with the Dj so it helped a lot

I paid our DJ $600 for 5+ish hours of music. He did a great job and played everything we wanted him to play.    I was just looking for someone to play music, not be the ham of the party or put on a crazy light show.   I was really pleased with him!! We had a small wedding (45 pp) and I didn’t want some over the top nonsense, just good music and a good read on the crowd.
