The night before your wedding… how well did you sleep?
I feel like I’m going to have a MISERABLE time trying to go to bed the night before. It’s going to be just like Christmas Eve when I was like 7.
How well did you gals sleep the night before? Were you so exhausted from planning that you slept like a baby, or were you so anxious/exited that you didn’t sleep a wink?

I’m not married, but in the wedding I was in recently she slept for about 6 hours on the floor. It wasn’t the best sleep, but after the rehersal dinner and so on I’m pretty sure she slept as well as could be expected!! I think it will depend how much you have going on the day before.

I was super excited so I had a hard time falling asleep even with my regular sleeping medication. I did manage to get about 6 hours uninterrupted though. I was so excited the whole day that I wasn’t even feeling the slightest amount of fatigue.

My college roommate bridesmaid slept over at DH and my house with me… we got to bed around 11:00 after the rehearsal dinner. It took me a little while to fall asleep, but I slept soundly until about 5:45am. We had planned to wake up around 7, but after I got up, she got up, and we relaxed and talked excitedly, and then headed to my parents’ house. I wasn’t exhausted at all on the day of the wedding though… you’ll be running on adrenaline!

OMG seriously, the night before our wedding, I swear to you i slept a total of 1 hour. I finally gave up sleeping and watched “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, and some of my favorite episodes of Friends. I pretty much made it through our wedding day totally on adrenaline! 😀

I think I got 4 hours. We were out with everyone the night before after midnight. I wanted to call it an earlier night, but everyone traveled so far to be there and some of these people I hadn’t seen in years so felt like we should stay and socialize. Then once we got back to our condo I had to spend 20 minutes taking out all the bobby pins in my hair(hair trial earlier that day…DW wedding) and then shower and wash my hair and blowdry it straight (per my stylist’s orders). So I didn’t go to bed until 2 am, got up at 6 am and we didn’t go to bed our wedding night until 4 am.
Adrenaline, excitement, stress, and 5 hour energy shots kept me wide awake that day/night.

I would fall asleep for a few hours then wake up again and struggle to get back to sleep… was totally frustrating!
I ended up being so tired that by the next day once we had gotten home from the hotel we had spent the night at, I was falling asleep on the couch at midday! We were ment to go to the reception venue to get everything but I couldnt stay awake for more than 30 mins!

I was so sure I’d be awake all night! I had family staying with me and I didn’t want to wake everyone rattling around all night so I sent myself to bed at 10.30 with laptop, snacks, bottle of water, dvd’s and headphones so I could keep myself entertained if I couldn’t sleep. I fell asleep almost instantly and woke once at about 2am, aknowledge the time and fell asleep again until 7 am! Totally didn’t think that would be the case!

I slept pretty well, actually. I didn’t sleep for very long, but I slept well. DH and I had to make a late night canonball run home after our rehearsal dinner and I didn’t get back to the cottage I was staying in until 2am and then woke up at 7am to have a bath, a shower and get over to a big breakfast with my mum, aunts and uncles, bridesmaids and ushers.
If I’d had more time, I probably still would have woken up at the same time.

I confess that I took a Diazepam before I went to bed lol, to help me relax.
I slept well obviously but for me it helped more having my Husband with me, we stayed together the night before, so I think I got about 7 hours

@rachelmichelle: I can’t function without sleep. I am going to have to get some somehow.
