So, I bought my dress this week and it can sparkle the bugs off a windshield.
It doesn’t photograph as such, but it’s all tulle, the second layer being covered in sequins on the entire dress. In person, it just shines.
Now, thinking of decor and the flowers and other touches, I feel like I want them to have some sparkle to complement the dress, but how much is too much? The veil will have some sequins on it as well and whatever jewelry will have some sparkle too it as well, maybe my nails, too.
I don’t want everything to look like a little kid threw glitter everywhere, but I’d like to carry the shimmer throughout other aspects of the wedding because it will be so prominent in my attire.
Thoughts on how I can balance it out?

Honey, on your wedding day I think you can look like a disco ball if you want to! If you think it looks pretty then thats what counts! Glitter looks great! Sparkle is awesome (hello.. wedding rings!)
If you are worried about balancing it out would get a very slightly sparkley veil, if at all. And a more suble shoe.

I would go for subtle glitter throughout… like not make signs with giant sequins or something. Like really fine glitter/sparkle, soft lighting, and one or two main colors to keep it classy.
I love sparkles!!!!

How much is too much … it’s a matter of personal taste I guess, but to me it would be too much if EVERYTHING was sparkling. But, touches here and there would look fabulous ! I think less is more, just because it brings attention to the sparkling details (while on the other hand, if everything is sparkling, you can’t really focuss on anything). I’m talking about decor, though. I believe for style, it’s another thing. I know I would never rock a sequin dress, for example. But I also know women who would and I absolutely would want them to wear it and rock it if they felt comfortable enough to do so. 🙂

@canarydiamond: @NauticalDisaster: Thanks. I wouldn’t do giant glitter pieces, but I don’t want to blind any one by putting it on everything. I also don’t want to be the only shiny thing in the room, though. Trying to find a happy medium.

@HonoraryNerd: Sparkly table cloths? Or sparkly centerpieces? like a shimmering candle holder?
