Haha I just started a similar thread. I'm wondering about the same thing!
I had my hair done 6 or 7 hours before the ceremony but we also did a reveal and family pics before the ceremony plus add in travel time and doing make up afterwards.
uh, I wasn't planning on much time. I checked 2 hrs before.
Should I give it more time than that? I don't really understand what can take six hours to get ready....... most mornings I'm out of bed showered and out of the house in like ... 15 minutes.
But I towel dry my hair and go (it's very thin and short - I don't even own a comb) and don't wear any make up.
Am I going to make a huge mistake if I only give us a few hours to get ready?
I didn't vote because my case is a little different than most. We have 13 (!) people getting their hair and makeup done. So we're starting at 9:30am and the ceremony starts at 4:30pm.
My personal hair appointment will start at 12:00pm, I need to be totally ready by 2:00pm for our first look. I am getting a touchup for both hair and makeup at 4:30pm before our 5:00pm ceremony.
Um, let's see, hair at, oh, 1030am, ceremony at 6pm. We had 10 people to do hair for so we had to start early. Especially since our stylist was my SIL! And she was 7 months pregnant, haha, so we wanted to be done early so she could go back home and finish getting ready. Nobody's hair budged all day, though.
I think the earlier the better. We have a small wedding party and our ceremony doesn't start till 1-2 p.m. because we need to get there at least an hour before in order to take pre-wedding pictures. It all depends on the size of your party and how elaborate and/or hard it is to do the hair style.
How many in your wedding party? Are you hiring a professional to do your hair and make up and your wedding party's hair and make up?
