My wedding is in two weeks (TWO WEEKS!) and yesterday was my last day of work. I'm having a semi-DW so I have catch a flight a week and a half before the wedding, and wanted time to pack/get ready. Getting up this morning and not having to go to work really made me realize how quickly the big day is coming!

(I was lucky to get this much time - my fiance once gets 1 week, but I'm going back to school in the fall, so yesterday was my last day at that job EVER. AWESOME.)

How about the rest of you? How much time did you/will you take off BEFORE your wedding?

I'm taking off the 2 days before my wedding so that I can prep all my DIY projects, get everything set for the rehearsal dinner, and spend some time with friends and family who are in from out of town.  (I have also taken about 4 days here and there in the last 3 months to do some wedding-related things that needed to happen during business hours)

Ugh, I'm only taking off the 3 days before the wedding.  Kinda wish I could have the whole week but my office needed me on Monday.  I think it'll be fine though, a lot of stuff is already done.  But you're a lucky duck!  I'd love all that extra time!  :)

I put my request off in a long time ago!

Our wedding is on a Friday, so I requested that Tuesday be my last day.  I plan on getting my nails done, etc. on Wednesday, rehearsal is Thursday.  We will take the weekend to unwind, and we leave for our honeymoon that next Tuesday.  All in all I requested a little over 2 weeks off.

I'm taking off 2 working days before my flight (DW) but I will actually have for days before the wedding to wrap any loose ends before we leave the country.

I'm taking the whole week before off.  I've been planning my IN wedding from CA and TX so there are a lot of things I need to be home for that week to wrap up (like getting my dress tailored - yeah, that starts the Monday before the wedding - I love my tailor!)

I took off the Wednesday before, but i was local so it made it easy for me. Plus i didn't want to burn up my vacation time just running around =]

I am probably taking the whole week off - I am a PhD student though so my time is VERY flexible - if I have meetings or anything I will go in and I will probably do some work from home if I have time.

FI is off the week before as well because he has family from overseas coming down so we will be spending time with them also.

I took off the day of the rehearsal (FMIL is taking care of everything - laid back rehearsal at her house) which is next Friday, and then the two weeks after the wedding for our 9 day cruise and some relaxing time!

On Friday, I'm getting my nails done, and RELAXING, and packing for Friday evening, Saturday evening, and start packing for the honeymoon! My goal is to have everything done by Friday morning!

Since our honeymoon is 2 weeks I felt bad requesting that much time before. I am only taking the day before the wedding off, but my mother is taking to whole week so at least I will have someone to run around and help with some of the last minute tasks.

I took the week before off. Our honeymoon isn't until November and that will be two weeks.

I took two weeks off around the wedding. July 1-14, which gives me 2 days at home to pack before driving to the lake on July 3. Then we'll be at the lake for 8 days, and come home the Monday after our wedding. I'll take Tuesday and Wednesday to unpack and decompress (massage!) before going back to work.

We don't have a honeymoon scheduled yet, because we don't know what our time off/ financial situation will be. So I'm making the most of it around the wedding.

I am only taking off the day before the wedding, and the wedding day as well (it's on a Friday). I'm taking the two weeks after the wedding off, so I didn't want to be gone almost a whole month.

I'm taking off 3 days before the wedding. We are driving 10 hours the Tuesday before the wedding and I want to be there all day on Wednesday because guests will start arriving on Thursday. I'm happy with this amount of time!

My wedding is on a Friday, and so far I'm just taking Thursday and Friday off. But, if it turns out I'm a huge lump of uselessness that week, I'll probably add Wednesday to the mix. Then I'll be back at work the following Wednesday (we're waiting to do our honeymoon until the end of November).

I'm working M-W then heading out Wednesday night.  We're driving halfway to Pittsburgh (about 3-4 hrs) and staying over somewhere and finishing the last 3-4 hrs Thursday morning.  Wedding is Saturday.

We're taking 2 wks for the honeymoon and need to save vacation time for Xmas, so we wanted to limit the pre-wedding time off as much as possible.

our wedding is on a saturday..i'm taking a half day on wednesday, and then taking thursday and friday off. family and friends start coming in on wednesday, so i want to have plenty of time to get things done and see people. i would have taken the whole week off, but im taking 8 work days off for our honeymoon so i figured they might get annoyed about me being gone almost 3 weeks :)

Our wedding is next Friday!  I took off today and all of next week.  I also took off the following week for our honeymoon.  I'm blessed to have as much vacation time as I do... FI is only able to take off the Thursday before our wedding, and then Friday - Friday for the actual wedding and honeymoon.

My wedding is on a Sunday, and I'm taking the Thursday and Friday off beforehand.  I'm taking Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off after the wedding to "recover" and spend time with DH.  We're going on a honeymoon about 4 weeks later.

It's a ways away yet, but I am planning on taking Thurs and Fri definitely, and maybe Wednesday depending on when my family plans to get into town. Then I am taking a week off after, so I'll be off about 1.5 weeks total.

We planned from the very beginning that we would be getting a rental cottage in Maine for the entire week leading up to our wedding.  I'm so excited for that week, and I'm really hoping to have some time for fun stuff (hiking, sea kayaking, etc.) in between working on the final wedding details...

I took the week before. I'm hoping to not be at this job for too much longer after the wedding (nothing against my job or coworkers...it's just that my 15 minute commute becomes more like an hour and 45 minutes once I move in with my FH), so I used up all but about a day of my vacation time :) I also took the week after, we're taking a short (4 day) honeymoon and then I'll have a couple days at home before starting that commute!

One week before.  We had a destination wedding so we needed the week to travel, meet with all of our vendors, and take care of a lot of things once we got there, so any less would not have worked for us.  (We barely fit in everything with a week!)

None.  I'm an accountant and the day before the wedding was the last day of the month!  I needed to stay and close the books.  I took a week off afterwards, though.

I took Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. NOT ENOUGH TIME! I was useless at work that week so I should have taken the whole week (I didn't have enough vacation time to do that and take a honeymoon though).

I'm taking off thurs/fri before the wedding, and the following mon-fri. I just started my job in December, and we're getting married in August, so I don't have a lot of vacation time. 3 of the days on my honeymoon will be unpaid. Sad day :(

I'm taking 3 weeks off before the wedding, but I'm leaving my job as well. The first week I'm moving to Ohio where FI and I will live to unpack/quickly job hunt. Week 2 it's back to NYC to wrap up wedding things and hang out with friends and family. Week 3 is up to Ithaca to get things ready for the wedding and be with FI's family who is there on a 2 week vacation surrounding our wedding. Can't wait til July 23rd!!

I'm thinking Wednesday, Thursday, Friday the week of the wedding (on a Saturday afternoon) and then 2 weeks after the wedding (1 week for the honeymoon and 1 week to get settled into our place together since we don't/wont' live together before our wedding)! In order for me to save that much PTO, let's hope I won't need to take off too many days before June 2011! Oh how I dislike PTO. :)
