When I get bored, I spend way, way, WAY too much time looking at wedding dresses. Its like my go to, I’m bored thing. I’ve been doing this for years. I have to delete my browsing history constantly so my SO doesn’t think I’m cray-cray. Anyone one else have this problem before they were engaged?
I don’t know what I’m going to do if I actually get married and have to stop looking at dresses. It will likely crush me. 🙂

Oops, I voted before I realized what you meant. I thought you meant in person and not online. I haven’t gone actual, physical shopping, but I look at wedding dresses and wedding stuff online ALL THE TIME!

Honestly, I’ve just started getting into looking at wedding dresses, lol. It was rings for quite sometime, however. Not expecting an engagement for a couple of months at least, but since SO is a pastor, I find myself closely examining designs…how low-cut a dress is….etc. Im on break from classes at the moment so that makes the search even worse 🙂

I don’t look at wedding dresses because I find it hard to visulise them on myself so I get a bit bored 🙂 Plus I’ve already decided that I’d like my dress made for me based on a dress in a series I like (nerd), so there isn’t a lot of point really.
Engagement rings and wedding venues are a completely different story though… since I’ll be on a very tight budget I kind of look at it as a challenge and that really sucks me in XD (I dread to think how many rings I’ve analysed these past few months).

@lawyerchick13: I voted once a month, but in reality I think I looked at dresses maybe half a dozen times before we got engaged, and we were together for 5 years 4 months before we got engaged.

I’ve done a quick online search to see if what I want actually exists somewhere, but since we plan on June 2015, and I plan on losing weight, anything I’d see now would be out of stock and hopefully way too big on me by then, so I’ve never looked seriously

Oh yeah. I spent a lot of time looking at rings and dresses when I was waiting. Especially dresses. I make no apologies for it. I love fashion and I love looking a beautiful evening gowns. I just kept an open mind because I knew that the styles I liked may not necessarily look good on me and vice versa. Wedding Inspirasi was/is one of my favourite sites to perv at gowns.

- Wedding: May 2015 - Our church and then at The Garden Room for the reception
For a while I was doing it constantly, but I’ve calmed down a bit for the moment since I found a dress pattern that I like (I have a friend who sews).

@Miss Circe: Yes, I don’t think its because I’m totally crazy! I was an art history minor in college (it was a super helpful addition to my history degree ), and I mainly studied the decorative arts. I wrote a bunch of papers about historical fashion, so I also spend a lot of time mining the internet for pictures of old, museum quality gowns. I just love dresses!
I do apologize for it, though, because I think if my SO found out how frequently the wedding dress search comes up, he’d run out the door in panic! 🙂 I just wish there were more places you could wear a ball gown today!

@lawyerchick13: Ditto on your last sentence. I love any excuse to dress up. Lol I’m rather naughty because I would still look at dresses even when the FI (then the SO) was around, and he’d just look at me, shake his head and say “Normally I would find this scary but with you, it’s weirdly endearing”.

I used to be obsessed with looking at rings but I eventually got a feeling that SO would pick out what he wants and my expectations might lead to disappointment. I found a picture of a ring I loved and sent it to his fb inbox and left the rest to him.
After that started my dress obsession. At one point, I could look at a dress and name the designer. I’ve eventually decided to design my own but I still look at dresses for further inspiration. I love looking at designer dresses and even custom dresses here on wedding bee. I look at my design at least once a week and gush over it.

Not much. I looked up dresses a few years ago. Now that I know a proposal is coming, not at all.
Part of it is probably because I know I won’t have a wedding dress. We decided long ago that we are having a small, civil ceremony with immediate family or eloping. I’ll be wearing a casual, knee-length dress. Maybe white, maybe not.

@lawyerchick13: I didn’t look AT ALL before I was engaged.
