How much time for getting ready pics?

I think 1 hour for getting ready shots is fine.  What about the possibility that things don’t run exactly on time and cake cutting is 9pm or 9:30pm instead of 8:15pm?  I have seen this happen so many times.  Are you confident that your venue will run the event like clockwork?  I would be worried that you’ll miss alot if your photographers leave at 8:30pm and would suggest adding the time to the back end.

I would say about 45 mins. It shouldn’t exceed that IMO, just get the finishing touches of hair and make up and then you getting in your dress etc.

An hour is more than enough.  Honestly, you really only need a few shots of you getting ready, and usually they are staged anyways because the bride is already ready.  I personally would start later as a lot of your first hour will be while you are transporting to the venue.  Maybe try getting to the venue an hour early and taking getting ready photos there.

An hour is plenty of time! Our photographer did both mine and my husbands getting ready shots in an hour (including travel)! That included hanging-around-the-hotel-with-my-bridemaids shots, finishing hair & makeup, shoes & accessories, putting on my dress, etc.

To be safe why don’t you ask your photographer how long they usually take?
