whatsherface04:  I took off 2 1/2 days for the wedding, and we got married on a Saturday. I then took off 6 works days for our 10 day honeymoon.

I work 12 hour night shifts, so I work 3 on, 2 off, 3 on, 6 off every 2 weeks. My last work day prior to our wedding was 9/10 and I go back on 10/1.  I took off a total of 6 work days to be off 20 days! Our wedding was 9/20.

I am taking 7 weeks off. We are having a DW so 2 for the wedding and 5 for the honeymoon.

Means I have to work Chrismtas to save leave, but I am a nurse so probably would have been working xmas anyway,

Lauren267:  Wow! I can’t even imagine a 5 week honeymoon…good for you!!

As for me, my wedding is in the town where I live, but all my family/guests will be traveling and likely staying for the whole week before, so I’ll take off time to hang with them (either the whole week or just Wednesday through Friday), then I’ll plan to take the whole next week off to either go on a honeymoon or just stay home and enjoy being married. So…somewhere betwen 8-10 days

Well we figure that once we have kids we won’t have time for big holidays, so it’s kind of our last hurrah.

We are from Australia and flying to the USA: San Francisco, Seattle, Pittburgh (only for FIs beloved Pirates lol), NYC (for my birthday!), Boston, Florida for a Carribean Cruise, Disneyworld, Memphis and Austin.

Needless to say, there’s not much fun being had at home due to our super tight budget but I’m sure it will be worth it!

I took off 12 days. I work for a tiny non profit so we didn’t have the staff to cover me taking more time than that off although I had significantly more vacation time I could have used.

I had work and class up until 1:30 the Friday before the wedding. I’m glad I didn’t take much off because idk what I would have done! I could have taken the whole week if I really wanted to but I didn’t. For the honeymoon I took 5 days off.

My wedding is on a Friday, and I just took the whole week and the Monday following off. I mainly did because I had the time to use… and still have 2 days to request off by the end of the year.

I’m a teacher and mine fell during fall break so Thursday and Friday I’m off, that Saturday is the wedding and I took off Monday and tuesday as well. New teachers only get so many sick and personal days off, and my kids would get too behind if I stayed out a whole week.
