I was just wondering how much time should I allot for guests to eat their entrees, which is a prime rib or sable fish. I was told by someone that 40 minutes is ideal but that seams a little long to me. Would 30 minutes suffice or should I stick with 40 minutes? Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks ladies 🙂
Sorry, just to add:
I’ve set aside about 15-20 minutes for the first course and another 15-20 for dessert.
Let me know if there’s anything you girls might change.

My whole dinner took like an hour. It felt a lot longer than what I had expected. I had scheduled and hour for it and was on time for everything else so I’m guessing I estimated right. Wasn’t really on top of the clock so not too sure. If it’s buffet I guess it goes quicker, just grab it and eat. But at a sit down dinner, it really takes longer than you imagine.

I’m having a buffet and I was told to alot and hour and a half, though I am doing dinner for only the people invited to the ceremony, and they having a lot more people join us for the reception and appetizers after the dinner, so we need time to clean up some too.

I’m alotting 2.5 hours for pasta course, main course, salad and dessert.
We are also having a cocktail hour which includes an antipasto bar. So all together there will be 3.5 hours of eating! Plus the midnight buffet. Gotta love Italian weddings!
