@soontobehisbride:  I’m taking the three days off before our Saturday wedding.  Originally I was only going to take two, but decided to do DIY homemade edible favors – meaning I’ll need the extra day.

I’m *hoping* that the week before the wedding will run something like this:

Monday (after work) – haircut/color, waxing

Tuesday (after work) – begin baking

Wednesday – finish baking and and making favors (will have help from family and my MOH)

                 – FI to finish programs or any DIY projects of his

Thursday – Last minute errands and tasks

                – Evening mani/pedi and massage with MOH

Friday – Transport all the wedding “stuff” to the venue.  This will likely take a few trips.

                – Rehearsal Dinner

@soontobehisbride:  I took a day and a half. On the friday (before satruday wedding) we set up the reception venue in the afternoon. Cant even remember what we did in the morning! On the Thrursday afternoon I left work early to pick up my dress. It was plenty of time for me.

I flew across the country for my Saturday wedding on Wednesday and that was plenty of time. I would take a few days off after if you can, maybe Wednesday through Wednesday if you can take a week off.

@soontobehisbride:  I took two days, probably should have taken three. I would have loved to have had the whole week but didn’t want to sacrifice the paycheck!

My best friend is taking off that whole week. Just in case things need to be down and so that she doesn’t feel pressured and stressed out because of work

@soontobehisbride:  I took the whole week off and I was so glad I did. It made everything less stressful for me and I was able to be relaxed on the day of the wedding and the day before.

@soontobehisbride:  I got married on a Sunday. I left work Wed after lunch time, so 2.5 days before the wedding. I DIY my flowers and they were delivered on Thursday so I had to be there for that. I had an appointment to get my dress Wed afternoon. Friday and Sat were crazy busy!

@soontobehisbride:  I am taking the week before off and the Monday after. We are not going on a honeymoon right away though. I am afraid of being busy and stressed so I want to make sure I have lots of time off before the wedding. Depends really on what all you need to do before.

I took one day off (Friday) and left about 2 hours early on the Thursday.  I had a ton of stuff to do at work that week, so there was no way I could take anymore time off than that.  It was a struggle to get away on the Thursday as it was.

On Thursday night I picked up flowers for the bouquets and trimmed/cleaned them, picked up some stuff at my dad’s, baked gluten free cupcakes for my GF guests, and DH and I finished writing our speech.

On the Friday, DH and I went to set up the hall which took all morning, then backed our stuff and I went to my mom’s house where we made bouquets.

I took off the full week, but I had to drive 4 hours away, do a TON of DIY (a whole DIY welcome bbq, etc etc etc), and we had a lot of family and friends in town for the whole week.

If you don’t have much to do, I’d take off 2-3 days and add more to your time off after the wedding.

@soontobehisbride:  After reading these replies to you, I’m going to take 2 days off I think. I was originally just going to take the day before off but now that I’m thinking about it, 2 days off is probably better. Three would be awesome.

Oh Lord… the time is flying by!
