There is a restaurant near me that always leaves me confused about how much to tip.
It’s a decent restaurant, like with good food and even alcohol, but you order at the counter and pay there, order your drinks at the counter, get your coffee yourself (like at panera,) they will bring out your food to you and clear your plate, and they might or might not check on you at some point to see if you need anything else, so it’s not like you have a specific “waitress.”
What would you do?

I would leave a couple bucks.. not 20% (i worked at a restaurant for 6 yrs, so i know what it’s like to work in the industry).. but I would tip like I would if I were at a buffet.. maybe $2-$4 dollars.

I worked at a place like this briefly in high school. Some people would leave a dollar or two, most nothing. Any tip went into a jar, and was divided amongst front of house staff at the end of each month.
I’d leave a buck or two, but probably no more than that.

If I’m ordering at the counter & paying at the counter, I wouldn’t think to leave a tip.
